The Museum has announced that the earliest day for Museum Deliveries could be Tuesday, September 2nd, and further that they are awaiting formal scheduling until the Plant officially announces the date that 2015's will be first released.

Anyone hear updated info?

Sorry, do not definitively know, but an e mail Shane or Lori, or a call to 1.800.53.VETTE Monday morning will get you an answer, and then please post it here.

Betting 99% that the answer will be "no," based on their past practice, for they are totally at the mercy of BGAP, and do not want folks to purchase airline tickets, etc., only to find that there is an unexpected Plant-caused, delayed release of their StingRay.

There have not been any new cars show up on the Corvette Blvd web cam for days. It appears they have delivered all 2014's. Now, let's release the 2015's!! Question: When cars on a quality hold like all 2015's right now, are they stored with the white shipping cover on them to protect the cars while we wait. I hope so, it bothers me to think my car is sitting up there out in the open with no protection.

I have wondered about this. Western Kentucky gets a lot of storms. I have friends who live in the Bowling Green area, and I remember this one time when one of their cars got pelted with hail large enough to put 2+ inch dents in the body, and crack the windshield. It seems dangerous to me for them to leave the cars out like that. But I suppose GM is insured for huge $$$$$ in case something like that happens while the lot is full of cars.

I am not happy that my 2015 Z51 3LT is due to be built week of 9/1 and will sit in an open lot in 90 degree heat for a month while they try to unload the 2014's.

Raif... all the 2014s are gone. These are the first 2015s that are hanging out a the plant waiting to be sent.

It'll be interesting on those first NCM deliveries. I think normally NCM gives you a nice cushion to when your car will be delivered so you have time to make travel plans. I wonder how much lead time the Museum will be able to give on those first ones since they're at the mercy of the plant.

Is today the day?
Sept 2nd is less than 2 weeks away

NCM is supposed to give us about a 2 week warning
The NCM gets a report from the factory listing ETA for cars with the R8C option every week (I think it's on Monday though the day may not be written in stone). I got called the week mine was built and was given a first delivery date 14 days out from the day the report said it was to be built (5/29). Obviously the factory didn't include 2015's on the weekly report as they were built anticipating the initial MY quality hold. I believe when the factory officially releases the 2015's already built for shipment the NCM will get the report and start calling people. You can select a pickup date as far out as 2 weeks past the first available date meaning about 4 weeks from the day the car is built and released (2014's were being shipped the day they were built, there was no quality hold over the summer for anything other than museum delivery's regardless what some tour guides told tour groups).

So, that being said, I imagine the NCM will probably be able to schedule you earlier than 2 weeks from the time they call but will let you pick a date 3 or 4 weeks out if you need to make travel arrangements so no worries about having to make last minute travel arraignments.

One question that could shed some light on when these may be released. Has anyone taking museum delivery been contacted by their dealer? Has your dealer been invoiced for the 2015 yet? Have they received the MSO from GM? If they have the shipment is imminent. If they haven't then there may be a bit more of a delay.

I talked to Lori at the museum at length today. They have no word as to when the 2015 cars will be released. They have been producing cars for some days now, mine is made, have the VIN, but that's it. Lori said hang tight, after Labor Day GM may have word. Same deal every year, they announce the 15's in September.
