Coupe is the way to go in my opinion. If you ever feel like wind blowing in your hair, take the targa top off! Plus I always think if I was to get in a wreck, which would I feel safer in......definitely a coupe. Either way you win, both cars are beautiful and amazing machines!

If one is torn, does the $5,000 price difference lead you one way or another? Can get a lot of nice options for that amount, get some and still have cash to spend???

My opinion here is the coupe is the better looking car with the new roof line down the back, the convertible just doesn't have the same line and in my opinion does not look as good with the top up. Now top down, it's a great looking car. I went with the coupe for two reasons, I already have a convertible Honda S2000, great car and lots of fun, but when we go on trips I'm somewhat concerned about someone tearing into the car while it's parked. With the roof off on the coupe my expectation is that it will be the best of both worlds, plus second as I stated above I just like the lines in the coupe versus the convertible. In the end, it's your decision but either way based on all that I have read this is just a great car. (Note I haven't yet taken delivery of my C7 so my opinion is based on what I've seen and what I've read on this forum about the C7)

But that convertible is Gorgeous!!

You can't go wrong either way but everybody has a coupe, there are far fewer convertibles around!

Personally, I always went vert. However, this C7 Coupe is in a class it's own. Not since 63 split window has there been such an obvious choice. Oh, sorry but I find your story hard to believe. Maybe too long in New York.

It is nice that everyone is stating their opinions respectfully without belittling anyone else. I really like this forum!

My thoughts have already been stated above by others, so I will not reiterate those points. I vote coupe, but agree that the convertible is very beautiful with the top down.

corvettestingray225, welcome aboard. It would be nice to buy both, ok dreaming for a second. I prefer the coupe, but the vert with the top down is sharp!! Can't go wrong with Torch Red!

Can't take a vert on the track unless you have a roll bar.
Just saying. ;)

The Verts are beautiful with the top down, the coupe wins top up though. Another thing to consider is storage space. You can get a lot more in the coupe, the verts trunk is rather limited. In the end you can't go wrong either way.

A new C-7 would replace my current S2K also, and it would have to be a convertible. In my view it is because of the driving experience and not the looks. They both look good! It really boils down to your personal tastes, and what you want out of the ownership experience. I don't think you can go wrong with either. Having said this I understand your concern and the fears that go along with the ownership of a car with a soft top.

I have had some verts in the past however I think the coupe looks better and has a lower price tag. If it was a hardtop vert maybe that would look much better. If I want wind in my hair and lucky me almost 57 and still have lots of gray hair lol, I just take the top off the coupe. Plus the vert top can get cut or ripped much easier and the insurance is a bit higher. (Just my opinion ). THX..G
