It's a big pleasure to introduce me.. I'm very far away from you but the distance doesn't matter when the passion is the same ;-)

First of all, I would have to say that you are VERY lucky to leave in the Corvette's Country !
You cannot imagine the crazy situation caused by the decision of Chevrolet to quit the European market at the end of 2015... They decided to just continue to supply the Corvette and the Camaro but trough the Cadillac division.
Surprisingly they did not imagine that the Chevrolet decision will make a tempest caused by the dealers who decided to quit "the boat" quicker than expected, more over, the Chevrolet employees in Switzerland (and certainly in other european countries) have no more motivation to help Chevrolet in the actual business.
Beside that the factory don't help the customers over here, see for yourself: 220 Corvette ordered for Switzerland and only 60 will be delivered this year (first C7 in Europe in 2014) ! Imagine the disappointment of the customers and the lack of goodwill for Chevrolet.

Asking the importer to know the delay required to order a Z51 to have it on spring 2015, one day later they replied to me that they could not guarantee any delay and any chance to receive a car !
My dream was suddenly dead down and I was more than disappointed :-(

I have certainly a good angel over my head as I decided the same day to contact the biggest Corvette reseller over here and our discussion was friendly and he invited me to come and see his demo cyber gray Z51 (the sole car in Switzerland !!)
I decided to let all falling down and drove immediately for 200 km to them. My visit was great and when I said that I would order one, he replied that I have the ultimate possibility to order it as the reliable number of cars allowed to his company for 2015 was quite closed as only one car was free...(that was not said during my phone discussion). I signed an order form, make a deposit and will have to make the car's configuration later when the 2015 options will be known. Definitely a little angel was with me :)

So, as I wanted, my Z51 is on order since last Thursday and will be delivered on spring 2015, it was a great day.
The time will be very long until this date but this Forum and all of you will be my companions and I'm happy for that. I read your pages since some days and I feel good.

The Vette will be my second american vehicle after my beloved Harley, if it will give me the same happiness, the future will be amazing !

As I'm not a native english speaking, please excuse the mistakes I could make.

Enjoy your rides lucky friends !

Hello SwisStingray!

It is wonderful that you are so persistent and will own a 2015 Corvette StingRay, made in the area of my birthplace, Kentucky! Congratulations!

You will find many passionate Corvette enthusiasts here on this site.

In what part of Switzerland do you live? I have visited Switzerland two times: once while I was a college student backpacking across Europe during a summer, and once to Lake Geneva and the surrounding area to give a lecture on my research. Your country has breathtaking beauty with the majestic mountains and lush, colorful valleys.

Best wishes, and may your wait seem short until the delivery of your new StingRay!

It's good to read that you are all so friendly !

To reply to your questions, I live in a village 40 km North of the Lake of Geneva's middle, 100km from Geneva, in the french speaking part of Switzerland.
Yes, it's a very beautiful country and we have the advantage to be close to all sorts of amazing landscapes as we can go from West to East in around to 350Km but the roads are much more twisty than yours... Nothing to compare with the size of your country which I know a little as I have made a 2500 Miles trip in California and Utah and also participated to 2 Bike Weeks in Daytona. I love your country, it's a beautiful experience for us to visit the USA as you have also plenty of amazing landscapes and towns.

Our roads are in very good condition and it's generally a big pleasure to drive from valleys to valleys. All would be the paradise if the cops would have the good idea to stay at home ! The speed radars are our ennemies and over here it's completely illegal to use radars detectors (one more time you're lucky guys), so our drives are constantly a poker party when we want to drive faster than our 50 miles/h speed limit on the roads and 75 miles/h on the highways... That will be more difficult to respect with the Corvette but I plan to continue to drive on the tracks to eliminate any frustration ;-)

My interest for the Corvette is a long time history: when I purchased my first Harley in 1993 it was immediately interested to participate to american cars and bikes meetings as the owners are all loving both sorts of vehicles over here in Europe. It was easy to meet Corvette and muscle cars owners. For me there is nothing more complementary than the Big Twin and V8 sounds ;-)

I have always owned very good sport cars and I still have two but I want now to sell them to make place around my house as with 5 cars + 1 bike, there is no place enough to have the Corvette in addition, beside that I still not have enough time and opportunities to drive all my vehicles.

If I know that the time will not pass so quickly as habitually until my Corvette will arrive in one year, I'm happy "to install me" in the Corvette family as I'm sure that this Z51 will give me the best I can expect : Accelerate my heart beats every time I'll sit down inside and press on the start button.

Ah, the closest I was to your area was in Berne and Lausanne. I never went to any of the towns on Lake Neuchatel.
