Engine light

After owning my new vette 2nd day engine light came on for a few hours and went off. Any ideals what this could have
Been. Has not come on but when I noticed light on stopped car called service dept where I bought and told me to bring it back but light went out and has not come back on. Dealership about an hr away what would you guy's do ? I will definitely keep an eye on it but strange. Less than 100 miles, and I did drive a bit hard when first bought for a short distance ride for my son.

Did it indicate a specific problem? If not, where on the dash was it located?

If it is too far to drive easily. Is there an auto parts store nearer to you? Pep Boys will read a code for free. You can get the code and call the dealership to see what might be the issue.

This light came on down right hand side of cluster gauge, bottom right. Just a engine light on, Did not say check engine just a pic of a engine. No reference to why light came on the dash. Kinda hard to see from steering wheel

Would it hurt to take it to a closer Chevy Dealer ? Wanted to buy there but no stock ?
I am purchasing from a dealer about 3 hours from where I live due to ability to get a car this year. All Chevy dealerships can do warranty work, there is not a rule you have to take it for service where it was purchased.

While this is technically true there is special training and tools required to become a certified Corvette dealer. I would not take my C7 to a dealer that didn't go through the training and purchase the tools.

Agreed so I will be researching the dealerships that are near me to make sure they can properly service my C7 and have sent their tech(s) for the training.

Update on engine light, Took it back in for tech's to see what the problem was, Just needed battery failure reset, Tech said looked like
Battery had been jumped over and just needed cleared from computer. Showed multiple battery failure but battery good and all is good now. Glad just a small issue !
