At the request of several of you... This will get all of the issues together in one location and allow other owners and would be owners to learn about the issues that owners are experiencing or discovering.

What's allowed:

Factual accounts of issues you encounter as a real owner of a real car. Provide as much detail, pictures, and documentation as you are able to talk about the issue.

Factual accounts or updates regarding resolution of issues that you or your dealer provided to solve a problem with your Stingray. If you solve a problem and post a separate update, please edit your original post that it was resolved and reference the post with the update if possible.

What's not allowed (This will be strictly enforced):

Anecdotal comments about first year models.
Comments about other model year Corvettes (even if they may relate to current equipment.)
Stories or issues you read about on other forums.
Posting about a problem "your friend" had with their car.
Posting that "your car is fine" or "I didn't have that problem."

The intent of this thread is to collect data and provide information for people who own a 2014 Corvette Stingray. Hopefully we will see both problems and resolutions and allow a place for folks to learn how to deal with issues that they encounter. If you can provide content information (equipment group, options, etc.) about your car that would be welcome. If you can provide photos of the issue or video of the behavior, that would be welcome. If are willing to post your VIN number, that would be helpful so that others with VIN's in a nearby range can relate.

Let's see if we can keep this thread on topic and make it a useful place for new and would be owners to learn what is going on.

The vibration happens in gear or not in gear, clutch in or out. I've attached a video showing the stick not in gear while the car idles and with some gas. I've got some console lights in the background so you can see the stick move when I give throttle even though its not in gear.

C7 Recalls in Wall Street Journal

After GM did another 8.5M recalls yesterday, the Wall Street Journal printed the total number for this year of all years by model.

06/27/2014 2014 Chevrolet Corvettes with the FE1 or FE3 suspension Rear shock weld Number affected: 1,939

06/06/2014 2014 Chevrolet Corvettes Sensing and Diagnostic Number affected : 33

I have not gotten anything in the mail about either of these issues and i would have no idea how to tell if my car is affected.

May I ask if anyone has gotten a recall notice (it's actually too soon to expect one), and if not if anyone knows how to tell if a car is affected (calling the dealer is one way I know).

Thank you.

You can look on your build sheet if you have one to see whether you have an FE1 or FE3 set of shocks. Since the numbers of so small in these two recalls I am fairly sure it is a specific supplier batch issue and have high confidence that if your Stingray is one of the impacted models you will receive direct notification. As you mentioned, if you are really concerned you could take your Vette to your dealer and have them run your VIN.

If you have registered with My Chevrolet and have an owners page the recall information will be updated there and you will automatically get a message. If you have loaded the Onstar app on your smart phone you can also go there and any recalls will be listed. If all else fails go here https://recalls.gm.com/#/ and enter your VIN.

Good suggestions Mark, however the recalls.gm site has not be updated as yet with the latest recalls and the OnStar remote app does not display recalls unless you have an active OnStar subscription.

No noise or rattles... it just seems that the stick is way too connected to the engine and any engine vibrations even though it's out of gear with the clutch engaged. I can't detect any vibration in the steering wheel or anywhere else, just a lot through the stick. I have a new video with my hand on the stick so you can see my fingers shaking. It's way more pronounced in real life... Seriously, is everyone else's manual stick dead still with the engine running?

So after having had 10 manual cars in my lifetime that have never had any vibration through the stick, my question is: "is this normal for the C7?" Do any of you have the M7 and are your gearshifts vibrating or dead still?

Dave; This is an ongoing issue with several possible fixes. First thing to try is to look for loose battery connections and / or fuse block connections. You can try a "global reset" where you disconnect both of your battery leads and hold them together for 15 seconds or so. Look these TSB's / PIP's over for other possible dealer fixes:

Main fuse block connections:

Good luck and let us know what your dealer comes up with.

Thanks Chip. I'm suspecting it's more than a fuse. On the way home from work today, random waring lights on the main instrument cluster screen came on and off at random. The seatbelt chime also sounded for about 30 seconds. That global reset is good information, but I'm going to let the dealer have a go at it first. Thanks again. This is a great forum!

With all of 287 miles on the clock, I had my passenger headlight stop working on 7/22. I took is to the dealer on 7/23 and was told they would diagnose and get back to me. Turns out the headlight was essentially unplugged. Per the service record the harness was "not fully snapped into place" into the ballast. There is a TSB - #14-08-42-001, about this evidently.

Last night at freeway speed in sport mode, I heard a noise that can best be described as playing cards being shuffled. It stopped before I could try to isolate it and I could not replicate it. My first thought was the belt tensioner but I checked and there are no signs of a leak. Any ideas?

Update: the dealer told me that this was a recall. I told my advisor that I hadn't been notified and she said the notices were just going out. It only affects certain VIN's so keep your eyes peeled for a notice. It was supposed to be a quick-fix with via data link with GM, but the communications were interrupted several times and each time, they had to start over. Finally, it was updated and everything seems fine. Maybe it's just me, but every time I get back in my car after a service, it seems just a little different. Today, the clutch felt much different when I got in to drive it home. The kid who drove it back to the service bay was obviously not familiar with a manual transmission and stalled it a few times in reverse. Am I imagining things?

I am pretty sure two months in the shop is a slam dunk lemon law case in some states.

Yes, the e diff. Started by getting rear disabled then that turned to service rear axle. We checked the fluid and it resemble metallic paint. This was at 1600 miles Rear diff replaced after waiting over three weeks for a new one. Picked it up and drove 2 miles and got rear disabled again After some reprogramming I picked up a week ago and did not get a half mile before getting the same warning. I returned to the dealership immediately and they hooked up the compter to it. No code with regard to the rear axle but had 7-8 new codes referring to p/s, brakes etc. Obviously some electrical issues. Picked up 2 days ago to use over the weekend and returning it in the morning. Mine was the first this dealer saw with this issue but now I'm told they have 5 with similar issues. One came in as I was leaving with about 6k on it. When they checked the fluid chunks of metal came out. With what I have read about others with similar problems I don't understand when I spoke to GM about this apparently being a growing issue, the response was oh really? Everything seems to be functioning properly but how do I know ? these systems are all ok? Every time I would make a sharp turn, the "rear axle disabled" comes on so briefly you have the look quickly when you hear the warning beeps to see it. It disappears quickly. There was no noise associated with the rear. I suggest anyone that has a C7 that is not experiencing issues, still have their fluid checked. You may be in for a surprise in what you find

I had a problem with the rear.. They replaced the whole computer system and hydraulic system for me so i wouldnt have to go thru something like this.. But the service rear end codes showed up when they scanned history..
I also found out the Rear axle disabled will brielfly come on for split second sometimes.. GM gave me some reason I dont remember about temp and safety. But i havent seen that again in a long time.. That isnt a engine code so not saved. Diff turns off and back on

But if says service rear axle a lot have them replace the computer and hydraulic pump

Yeah Chip.

Got a call at noon today after having the car two more weeks. They did what GM advised to do and said to come get the car at three. I was getting ready to go get it and received a call from the dealer saying they took it on another test drive and all the codes came back. They said they weren't comfortable with me driving it over the weekend. As soon as I got that call, I contacted GM again and am now asking for another car. I checked my records and I have now owned it about 17 weeks and been unable to drive it for ten of them. My patience has expired and I hope they do the right thing. I will update when I hear back from GM. I don't want a buyback, I want a new car!

I am new to this thread. I picked up a brand new 2LT convertible. I drove it from New Hampshire to DC on the first day. The car rode beautifully. I drove it Saturday and Sunday. It sat in the garage for two days. When I started it up on Wednesday, I got an engine power reduced message and two fault codes. I called OnStar they ran a quick diagnostic and informed me there was an air intake malfunction and engine control unit malfunction. The car has 780 miles when I drove immediately to a Chevrolet dealer in my area. They looked at the car and couldn't figure out problem and they called GM technical support and went through their recommended steps. They ordered a new ECU. They are going to install Monday. Hopefully this will solve problem and the car will be a beast again. I will keep you posted. Thanks
