At the request of several of you... This will get all of the issues together in one location and allow other owners and would be owners to learn about the issues that owners are experiencing or discovering.

What's allowed:

Factual accounts of issues you encounter as a real owner of a real car. Provide as much detail, pictures, and documentation as you are able to talk about the issue.

Factual accounts or updates regarding resolution of issues that you or your dealer provided to solve a problem with your Stingray. If you solve a problem and post a separate update, please edit your original post that it was resolved and reference the post with the update if possible.

What's not allowed (This will be strictly enforced):

Anecdotal comments about first year models.
Comments about other model year Corvettes (even if they may relate to current equipment.)
Stories or issues you read about on other forums.
Posting about a problem "your friend" had with their car.
Posting that "your car is fine" or "I didn't have that problem."

The intent of this thread is to collect data and provide information for people who own a 2014 Corvette Stingray. Hopefully we will see both problems and resolutions and allow a place for folks to learn how to deal with issues that they encounter. If you can provide content information (equipment group, options, etc.) about your car that would be welcome. If you can provide photos of the issue or video of the behavior, that would be welcome. If are willing to post your VIN number, that would be helpful so that others with VIN's in a nearby range can relate.

Let's see if we can keep this thread on topic and make it a useful place for new and would be owners to learn what is going on.

I was very interested in your experience. I am a first time owner. I live in Wichita,Ks. I ordered my car in January of this year. I was finally told the car would be built at the end of June as I had ordered BUT not in Cyber Grey so I cancelled the order. However there was on the lot a trade in of an almost identical car with 700 miles. This was bought by a loyal customer who now wanted a convertible. I bought this car and after about 1000 miles noticed a noise EXACTLY like that on your video! I was told by the dealer that it was from either the scavenger pump for the dry sump motor and that another car on their lot had the same noise. This noise got worse and Now they tell me that it is due to the " drive shaft carrier bearing" and there is now a national back order and that there are no parts available from any other dealer. Have also been told by Dealer- Joe Self Chevrolet in Wichita that GM is "pulling parts off the line" to get them to dealers.

No, I wouldn't. But to run to Porsche, expecting a flawless car, is idiocy.

I'm new to this forum and just started reading this thread, so I'm surprised one of the first posts I read is the exact same problem I had. The same loud rattling under car. I took it to dealership and they reached same conclusion that it was the torque tube. Unforunately they cant find a replacement torque tube anywhere. Is this a common problem with the 2014 Stingray and perhaps that is why they are having problem finding the replacement part?

With 1500+ miles, I have experienced a random condition under normal driving (even easy by my judgement) that begins with the message "engine power reduced" and the little engine "malfunction indicator" lights up. At that point, I have virtually no power and the mode dial is inoperative. The V4/V8 indicator says I am still in V8 mode, but with virtually no ability to accelerate, I am guessing that I am locked in one of the higher gears (A6). Once I turn off the engine and wait some time (instant restart doesn't do it; I have restarted from 10 minutes to overnight), it is back to normal. I have an appointment tomorrow to take it to the dealer, who forecasts that "they will need to keep it". The dealer searched for service bulletins and found none, and tells me that there is a mode on the C7 that does reduce engine power and perhaps somehow that mode has activated but they will need to check the codes and try to solve the problem. Contribute if you have experienced this problem, wish me luck and I will provide updates as the process unfolds.
9/12/14: Dealer, Bud's in St Mary's, OH, ordered a new Electronic Control Module. It will be in next week for a remove/replace/reprogram and I will be back on the road again. :) And, Bud's drove me 40+ miles back home.

ON STAR has the ability to send a signal that puts engine into a "low-power mode" when requested by police in pursuit. They can also shut down the engine completely.
There's gotta be a simple computer reset somewhere.

Joe; How frequently does / did this happen, and does it happen only at times when the car is accelerating? Has it ever occurred @ idle before applying power? I would expect a re-flash would fix you up, but there may be a faulty engine control module that needs replacement also. Do keep us posted.

2014 lt1 Laguna blue 7 speed. I have a couple of concerns pop up. First is a screech noise in the right rear when we picked up the car at the dealer. Went Home and the car was towed back the next day by GM. Technician said that the right rear emerg brake cable somehow came loose and was scraping on something. My thought was why was this car not PDI,ed correctly. somebody would have heard that noise. The car was also damaged on the front where the wrecker driver scraped the nose on the ground when loading the car and then tied the car down by the wheels with straps. the wheels are the black ones and GM did replace them. But the scrapes under the bumper are still there. 2ed is the theft system keeps locking the car down! will not start. dealer said nothing wrong! 3ed Theft locked the car down again, this time it would start after going from lock to unlock about 12 times but the theft system error light stays on. It also has lost all my programmed function's, radio stations and phone!

Now this is interesting! I just took this comment at face value when I first read it. It's interesting because a faulty parking / E brake connection was sited as one reason for holding up shipments of MY 2015 cars. When was you car built? Maybe it did not "come loose", but rather was never connected properly in the first place?

wmaccormack welcome to our forum. Please provide some additional information: is this a non-Z51, where are you located and what does your dealer say?

I'm from FL and yes it is a z51 lt1 with nav and mag susp and electronic exhaust and black wheels. Dealer has not said anything as of yet. New appointment next Tuesday for a diagnostic. It just takes the spice out of getting a new stingray after working so hard to get one and it going back to the dealership on the hook three times in the first month! Just very disappointed!

just back from dealer. I was told that any damage on the front of the car is between me and towing company and Chevy customer care who called the towing company! all I did was buy a new dam corvette and it broke first day, I never thought I was going to get into a pissing match to get this car fixed.

Chip,
Four times in the last 10 days. Most occurrences were at idle before applying power, set on T. Once was at a sustained 70 mph during interstate travel, set on T. I'm hoping that the dealer will be able to analyze & solve in short order, but the dealer is preparing me to leave it there for a while. Booo. It seems that it has never occurred when set on S. That's where I've kept it for the last three days with no repeat.

Pursuit, huh? Maybe that's what those flashing lights were behind me. I just gotta pay more attention. (see my update on original post for today's dealer remedy)
