I had heard VY was being retired in 2014 for a new yellow in 2015. Or, was I dreaming?

Certain angles almost give the yellow 2015 Z a metallic shift. VY wasn't metallic, was it?

My 2nd Vette was CY...sort of a taxi yellow. VY was an improvement!

Velocity Yellow is a tintcoat so has a lot of depth, but not metallic. The name Velocity Yellow will remain (at least that is what we have been told so far. ). The color "tone" is only going to very slightly change, perhaps just a couple percent. There will be a touch less orange tone to the new yellow, and thus the new VY will be fractionally brighter and "purer." From twenty feet away, most will not be able to tell the difference. The only public "display" of the color so far has been the C7.R's -- which got the new panels back before the Daytona race.

Contrary to what has been posted elsewhere, neither the C7.R, nor the Z06 which appeared at The NAIAS 1.13.14 Reveal, sported the new yellow. The panels on the C7.R which was at NAIAS a were changed between then and the Daytona Race two weeks later.

Were are hopeful we will see the new VY at next weeks Bash, but that is not confirmed.

Hehehe I hear you, @elegant. I remember when they first released the Millennium Yellow in 2000 and it looked sweet just like this one does.

Personal taste, nothing more here, but no matter how awesome it looks, I just can't get behind a yellow Corvette no matter how hard I try. Maybe it's because I have lived in New York City my whole life, but every time I see a yellow Vette, no matter how snazzy it looks, I can't help but look for the hexagonal, maroon yellow-taxi medallion on the front.

Your killing me John! Just look at the stance on that "Bad Boy." Guess if we're ever together in a caravan you'll have to take the lead and I'll bring up the rear, kinda like exclamation points.

Okay John, there's that big ugly wreck deck spoiler on the rear of these shots of the Velocity Yellow car.... Are they as big and kinda ugly on the yellow car as they are on the black car? I don't know about you, but I'm going for it....
