You will get a range of recommendations since there really isn't a set timing (other than when your oil life reminder counts down to below 20% or so). All Stingrays include free oil and filter changes for the first two years. A lot depends on your dealer and your own inclinations. Some individuals like to have it changed shortly after the initial break in (ie after 500 miles). I had mine done at 2500 miles (about 2 months after getting it from NCM). Your dealer may have its own 'requirements' so you will need to ask them. Your personal driving habits and style will also play a role. At the very minimum have it changed at least once per year along with the filter. Hope this helps.

I always changed it every year regardless of the miles or the DIC percentage, on my previous Corvettes. This is my first new one, so I didn't know if the break in period dictated an earlier change.

Perhaps I'm not doing it correctly, but my attempt at finding oil change info has not worked.
So when do you suggest the first oil change? Thanks.
Here's what you are looking for.

I do my first oil change at around 500 miles, and I use full synthetic.

You should also check the differential fluid (low diff fluid has been a known issue on some Z-51s). I recently changed my own diff fluid at 4800 miles (non-Z51), and it was over half a quart low from the factory.

You know, the dealership where my wife bought her Cadillac said they strictly follow the GM guidelines: you can schedule an appointment when your car has less than 20% showing on the oil life monitor, but they will not change it until the oil life monitor has less than 10% remaining. For multiple reasons other than just that, we searched for a new dealership, and found a great dealership where we have our service done now. We couldn't be happier with the new dealership.

If you do not like the answer, then look around for a more accommodating place. By the way, are you in NorCal or SoCal? Who is your dealership?

Perhaps the OP is looking for GM's documented oil change intervals as well as the onboard oil life indicator.

For the documentation go to owners manual, pages 11-3 though 11-5.

Text Font Pattern

Pages 10-16 and 5-34 provide info on the Oil Life Monitor. You can find the monitor from the DIC in the Info screen, simply scroll down within the Info section and you will find the oil life indication.
