For those who are wondering what to do in view of the exposed CF constraint, wait till its over, sacrifice what you want to order your StingRay without it, etc., there is already an aftermarket option.

Normally, we do not post vendor pitches if that vendor is not a supporting forum member, but as this is such a major issue (understandably) to many, and as we do not currently have a vendor in competition to Katech on this item currently, I am posting this from Jason @ Katech:

"Katech C7 Carbon Fiber Roof and B-Pillar Trim - PREORDER
If we can get at least 10 pre-orders we will be doing our carbon fiber roof and b-pillar trim for the C7. This will be a replacement roof skin bonded to your roof frame like we've done before on the C6 Z06. The carbon is pre-preg and will be extremely light. Pre-order here:
C7 Carbon Fiber Roof And B-Pillar ? Katech Performance Online Store

We also highly recommend that you add in our carbon fiber roof bonding service. We're put a lot of research and development into selecting the correct epoxy, and correct surface preparation procedures to permanently and safely bond the roof to the frame. This will be done on an exchange basis.

If we can get enough pre-orders we can begin shipping these parts in January."

I will find a picture and post it of this option shortly.

Maybe Katech should have been the GM supplier for the C7 CFR and they wouldn't have this problem in the first place!

Over the counter is allways more, the painted top is std. So for $1325 I can have both. And I think they would give me a deal on it too.

Ok so we should (whoever) get the part # for a glass top & c/f top and lets find the best price :)

Another good idea Glen.

I follow you now Chris.... my bad.

Just yesterday I changed my order from the CFR to the transparent top and I went from the "on-hold" (1100 status), (since August) to my order being sent in to GM tomorrow... all the way to 2000 status!! :D:D:D
And saved $1k besides!! hooray!!
