With respect. I know you mean 2015 and that's great. I am thinking about trading my 2014 when I spring for a vert with the blower and auto. However I was thinking what a 2105 Corvette would be (wings, electric. two cylinders, boxer???). What a mind can think up. 2015 should be a great car with all the little ticky things fixed. cutnout aka Charlie

In 2105 (91 years from now), people will travel using the "beam me up, Scotty" methods, even on interplanetary visits. :)

I just ordered a 2015 yesterday. 2LT Night Race Blue Metallic, 8-speed auto, Z51 appearance package, yellow calipers are the highlights. :)

Thanks, all. I forgot to list the performance exhaust option.

The dealership was really excited about my color choice, they said it's a beautiful color but nobody ever orders it. Even the owner tried to find a car in inventory with the same color code just so we could all ogle it in the sunlight. :)

Hi All, after 45 years of yearning for one, I am finally getting my first Corvette, still can't believe the dream is coming true. I have a question though, when you guys say you've ordered one, does that mean you gave the dealer your choices and he'll put in an order when GM starts production, or you placed the order and now it's in production? I only ask, because the dealer that I'm working with says I can tell him what I want, but they didn't start production yet, is that true?

Thanks, and can you all tell me, is it better to get the 1LT with the Z51 package, or a 2LT w/out the Z51 (can't afford both)? Thanks!

In my opinion, the 1LT Z51 is the "hot rod" and the 2LT has more whistles and bells in the interior.

You get lots of good stuff for your buck with the Z51 if you want the hot rod

From your short description, I would think you would be most happy with 2LT without Z51 (human comforts on a car which will not be raced on a track).

It is basically a preference thing and your choice. I chose the base non-Z51, because I do not track the car. In my opinion had I bought the Z51 I would have been purchasing items that would add nothing to my driving experience, since they are meant to enhance the track experience. Both the base and the Z51 have 460 HP with the NPP exhaust, and are just as exciting and fast as a street driven car. If you like the "look" of the Z51, the ZF1 package is now available to give you the spoiler and wheels. Since mine is a daily driver I went 3LT because I wanted interior enhancements, which you get with the 2LT. I only went 3LT to get the Brownstone interior which I fell in love with once I saw it in person. From what I have read if you get a Z51 then you might want to get magnetic ride suspension to smooth it out on the street. I believe the base car has a smoother ride on the street without having magnetic ride, but I haven't ridden in a Z51, so that is just my opinion. My car optioned out right at $68K, so I certainly could have purchased a Z51 in 2LT trim and come in less, but for the way I will be using the car, the way I optioned it made sense for me. Whatever you choose will be right for you, because only you know what you are wanting for the way you drive.

I've hesitated to comment over the vast amount of posts regarding the Z51 but I can't hold back anymore. In almost every post when someone is justifying their selection of the base over Z51 package I see the term "because I don't track the car". While it's certainly true that if tracking your car is one of the reasons you are buying it, getting a Z51 is almost mandatory, I do not believe the opposite to be true. The more accurate description would be, "the base model meets or exceeds my performance requirements". Or better yet, "I see no value to the Z51 parts based on the way I will use my car", aka, "I don't need a Z51".

I know it's splitting hairs and many here will surely comment I'm being petty but I honestly don't know why people even need to justify their choice to strangers on the Internet, I guess it's just human nature.

IMHO, all C7 Corvettes are masterpieces of style and engineering and would never even consider denigrating someone because they didn't choose to option their car the way I might but that's just me.

Ok, I'm done now, let the flaming begin.......
