Ordered my 2015 Z51 Arctic White 8spd coupe on 11/4...UPDATE!! 1/3 I bought it!!

First off, this forum is priceless...I can't imagine not having this wealth of information available before placing my order. Thanks to all who have made it what it is today...with that said...

I have never been a "Corvette guy". Always thought that the car was nice looking, but when the C7 debuted last year, I was blown away. Then my obsession began...fast forward to last Tuesday when I went to Couglhin and placed my order with Rick Conti. A fantastic experience!

My order was placed on 11/4..Rick said allocations were not an issue when I placed the order, so I am hoping for a status change to 2000 from 1100 on Tuesday...fingers crossed..

I think I need a shrink....all I have been thinking about since I placed the order...is this car....day, night, awake, sleeping, etc...I check into the forum 100 times a day looking for any tidbit of new information to feed my anxiety....is this normal?

I plan on keeping this thread updated as to my orders progress so hopefully I can provide future buyers with my "affliction", some good information.

Thanks again everyone!

Managerman - welcome to the forum - you're not alone - you're basically just going through the classic pre-delivery anxiety. If you read other member's build threads you'll notice they went through the same thing.

Yup! I can definitely relate. Wait till you get close to a build date and start anticipating possibly the Buyers Tour or the Museum Delivery. Now that's anxiety right there. Going to the Mecca, the heart of The General. I may need a full frontal lobe transplant. Did I say that right? Huh? Anyways....take it all in and enjoy truly AMERICAN experience!!!

Spend the time NOW by downloading the owners and infotainment manual. Read em twice so you know where stuff is, not to memorize it. Then when you are getting delivery you can inspect the features and build quality, instead of wasting time learning the features. Always strive to know more that your delivery person....

Totally normal! I spend all my free time planning this adventure! I'm surprised my wife hasn't left me by now! It's one of the most exciting things you will ever purchase in your life! In fact for me it is the single most exciting purchase. Enjoy every minute!

Sounds like me exactly, a smidge over a year ago. Perfectly normal and expected. Now I usually go out several times in the evening just to look at her, wipe a smudge off or just to think, "I can't believe it's mine." I drive it daily, yet I still do this routine every evening. Exciting times ahead Managerman!

I can relate. Though I did not place my order to build one, I hunt for weeks different dealers and found a beautiful Z51 3LT artic white with few extras. Somebody place the order and then backlot because C&S ged his mind and is now getting the Z06. Well I glad took the Z51 from his hands. I got it few weeks ago and it is not my daily drive, so I find myself getting every morning to check on her and say good night ever night. When the weekend comes then it is mine !!! I am driving it Friday night

No need for a shrink when the behavior is normal.
I too was blown away last January and knew then that I would be getting a C7. Fast forward a year and change, I placed my deposit back in March (working with LS was also a pleasant experience), had my order in the system as soon as they could be entered and will be picking my car up this coming Friday. Only hiccup was the CFZ option, oh and the fact that these last couple days of waiting will seem like another year.
Now, I pass the time on the NCM webcam site waiting to see my car make it out on the line.

Car Built - 10/24/2014
Museum Delivery - 11/14/2014

Daffy,

Wow! 27 days!! That is really fast! I am still waiting for the order to go to 2000. Emailed Rick C. at Coughlin this morning and he says his next batch of allocations arrive this Thursday or next Thursday and by the following Tuesday the status would go to 2000. Initially there was a possibility it might arrive before Christmas, but looking like mid to late January at this point...especially factoring in the holiday plant shutdowns.

Thanks!

Weekly update #1

Still at status 1100. Emailed Rick at Coughlin today and asked about my order. Apparently GM has not granted any Stingray allocations last week, this week and possibly next week. In part mostly because of new Z06 allocations and the upcoming holiday plant shutdowns for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Based on that here is my prediction for how this order is going to progress:

Status 2000. 12/2
Status 3000. 12/9
Status 3300. 12/16
TPW 1/20
Arrival in Columbus 2/2-2/6

This estimate seems possible based on where the order sits at this point as well as factoring in the plant shutdowns...maybe..

This is going to be the slowest 12 weeks of my life.....LOL!
