Anyone know how to remove the hose on the passenger side lower fuel rail cover? Does it just pull straight out?

So I talked to a service tech at the dealership about how to remove the connector. He said to just pull it straight out, it will be tight but it will come out. So I went home happy knowing how to remove the fitting. Yup, it was tight, came right out. To bad all of it didn't come out of the engine. Thank god my wife's son had just purchased a video scope yesterday. I was able to find the small item and fish it out on the end of a coat hanger to some electrical tape firmly attached.
Here is what the connector looks like once it's removed.

53Vette are those the lower covers for the coils? Are they more than just a "cover", meaning that the engine can't be run without them attached? I'm asking because I was planning on taking them off and sending them out to get them Hydrocarboned. I wasn't planning on parking the car while they are off, but maybe I need to change my plan.

I don't see why the car couldn't run without the covers. I haven't started the car now that I've removed the covers. The cars been put way for the winter.

Did you just re install it or did you have to have it replaced?

Mine also broke but could never find the piece. Used a Camara and Vac to remove any piece if it was in there but never found it. After install I re installed it but it does not sit straight like before. Car seams to run ok but have not run for longer than 10 min. Any info would be helpful.

Looks like you need to depress the tabs to release it from the housing before you pull on it (so they don't break off).
Does the housing have any slots where you could have rotated it to line up the tabs to get it off?

I just looked at it. You can't pinch the tabs before you pull it out and there are no slots to allow you to turn and slid the connector out. I still have no idea how to remove it without losing at least one tab.
Right now my connector slips in and out fairly easily. I'll talk with the service manager in the spring about replacing it.

Looks like I have to do the same.....left tab broke off....tube still fits snug....I will see how it performs once I start car up again, after I put everything back on. Should be an easier way to get it out. Price of owning a Z51 I guess........

Was at the dealership talking with the service manager about this.
He had no special way of removing it, no special tool.
He has ordered me the complete hose assembly to replace mine. $40 Canadian. I'm going to replace it if I sell the car.
I had the car out today for a few hours and the car ran fine with just one clip holding the hose in.
