We've all read that the optional performance exhaust system is good for an extra 5 HP & 5ft. lbs. of torque. My question is where is that extra HP & torque found? Peak RPM, or is it found lower in the RPM band? The same question about the extra torque. Here is a graph I found taken from an early produced Z-51 with the performance exhaust. I could not find one for the base car. I was just curious...

The short (and somewhat serious) response is that it is found at the end of your right foot. The performance exhaust system sound is so addictive that you just want to step on it more and more to hear it....

HP numbers are always peak measurements and usually always occur long after peak torque but since they claim 5HP and 5TQ increase it looks like it adds power from 3000 RPM all the way up to redline. Which makes sense since I read the valves are designed to open at around 3000 RPM.
