Finally it happened!!:)
Got the long-awaited call from Shayne at the National Corvette Museum.

Our Crystal Red Coupe has been built!

Delivery date at the NCM will be Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 7:45am CST!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D

I am freakin' out over here! I will probably need a good Z-Quil sleeping aid tonight.

Did this really happen today or just a dream? I never thought it would get here.

Later all!;)

Congratulations on your call from the National Corvette Museum! You are in for a treat, with your factory tour, your Museum tour, and, oh yes, that third thing, your being presented your car. You and Dianne are lucky folks! From the very moment you walk into the Museum the afternoon before the scheduled delivery, when you first see your car, with your names on your special stanchion, when you go out for dinner at Rafferty's, go to your motel thinking about tomorrow when you get to experience it all... And if you think you can't sleep tonight, your sure won't sleep that last night, having already seen your car, just counting the minutes until you finally say to yourself, maybe 5:00 AM, not having slept at all, the heck with it, I am getting out of bed NOW, go to breakfast, then drive a few miles to the Museum to have your Museum Delivery three-part experience... It's a super wonderful, super-powerful experience. Your's starts in just 14 more days. And it will be better than you can now imagine. The next two weeks will feel like a month long!!!

Just wondering...
Do you save the shipping charges?

No. The shipping charge is standardized across all locations including to the Museum.

Thanks all for the congrats!

When it come to my excitement... I think I sound more like a 21 year old than a 61 year old. And even after owning over 47 vehicles in my life, 7 of them being Corvettes, many of them in the high performance category... I can not recall having these kind of feelings before. Must be old age is making me kinda 'mushy'!

Fantastic Mark JD. Having just done the Museum pick up with RedHot last week I'll bet you will have a fantastic time. It rates up there with my top 3 ever automotive experiences. Those Caddies are going to languish with out attention once you get your Crystal Red C7 home- at least that is what is happening to my XTS :D The 20th will be here soon enough and then you will have one amazing drive back to Florida.

Can I actually see it on Monday?
No sleep on Monday night!!!!
According to Elegant.... yes we can visit our newborns, in the maternity ward, the day before. However, the museum closes at 5pm CST.

Big Congratulations! When did you place your order may I ask?
I got on my dealers 'list' on 8/30/13, but was held up by the carbon fiber roof constraint. Once I decided to go with the transparent roof things moved along rather quickly. Two days after my roof selection change, my order was submitted to GM. That was on 10/10/13. Today I got the call from the NCM of "car completed" status 11/5/13.

That's 3-1/2 weeks from order placed to car built. And of course, it takes two weeks to get on the Museum delivery schedule, so you can make your arrangements. It would probably take that long for a dealer to receive your car once it is completed also.

Six weeks total.
