Yech......it's matte and rough, not what I want in the middle of my hood

But to each his own...
Too uneven for me...prove me wrong though....

But why not ORICAL 951? Nice gloss and matches front vent perfectly....
in working with plastidip for 5 years I have never seen it do any damage to anything it is put on...
I really don't overthink things....it's always the lowes/HD stuff....can you show me a link on any forum that reports damage to auto paint?
Honestly, I've never seen this at all, and have seen many on the honda sites et al. peel it off after 3-4 years with no damage whatsoever. I'll continue to use it based on that experience...I just prep with alcohol and spray on....you might want to call the actual factory store in coral springs, fl and ask them.

I only use it on badges and black outs....many though do use it for temporary bras with no problem...

Yes this is what ive experienced as I plasti dipped my 370z emblems and door handles and seemed to be ok. My only concern is not ever having seeing any scientific data to back up the fact that clear coat is not effected negatively in any way. Im just being super cautious and trying to educate myself the best I can before spraying on my $65k vehicle. I plan to dip the roof, spoiler, and emblems if its indeed deemed safe. Otherwise I may spend a little more money and just 3m vinyl wrap those areas instead.
we both may be right in that large areas should be sprayed via gun to get it smooth, cans tend to leave tracks. Therefore you buy it by the quart or gallon and that may be a diff mix. Call the store if you want to get more info. I appreciate the links, but I would think if it harmed paint it would be all over the forums no matter what the car, as it is very popular with the less expensive pacific rim imports....personally I would wrap it. Plastidip up close sprayed over large areas looks like a boy racer mod, IMO..
