Im having an Issue with my seat entry and exit. When i enter the car in the exit mode and close the door the seats do not move to setting #1. I cant reach the clutch so I need to stretch to press and start the car.
As soon as I press 1 the seats go to my driving position. Is there anyway to set the seats so when I close the door they move foward so I can reach my clutch so I can start the car? I do have the setting for easy exit checked.

I know with my 2 Caddy's (automatics of course) that the seats don't go to position until the start button is pressed, not necessarily started just in the 'on' position. Not much help, but I would think it may be the same case on the manual shift, but the clutch will have to be depressed.

I feel sooooo sorry you are having a slight problem while you HAVE your new Stingray, as the rest of us sit and wait! You know I'm just messin' with ya Cyber. :) Glad someone in Florida is enjoying their C7. At least my order finally went through last Thursday, so now they are telling me the usual 4-6 weeks story, (just hope it is true).
My dealership here in Sarasota has already delivered 6 of them!;)

So how many miles have you racked up so far? I don't know about your coast but the past week we have had unbelievable nice weather here.

Check your PM I have something else to ask you.

Mine aren't doing that. They stay at position 1 until I push the button. I do know my dealership did something with my seat setting and fab together when I picked up the car. In other words, he had me get comfy, then with fab in hand, asked me to push the "set" and "1" at the same time. I don't know what he did to my fab. Try your settings, BUT every time I follow someone's advice here to go to settings, I don't have the options available there.

I followed someones advice and i guess the settings i have are correct. Since my car is manual i must press the 1 button to set my driving position. When the seats move i can depress the clutch.
Its a wierd system in that the seats and wheel should move when the door is closed and the fob is in the car. Im not used to pressing the buttons from my prev cars. I have the easy exit feature set which works fine the entry position issue is a pain in the ass.

Have you tried pressing the start button even though you can't press the clutch? That will turn the ignition on, it just won't actuate the starter. I believe the memory return happens when either the unlock is pressed on the fob or the ignition is turned on. Regardless, once the ignition is on the one touch feature of the memory button will work so you don't have to hold the button down.

From there all you should need to do is engage the clutch and brake and push the button again to start the car.

Yes I press the start button and then the setting 1 button. I am then able to start my car and drive. I was really looking for not having to press the seat memory 1 button. Its a strange system. Extra steps ard a pain in the ass

I had lots of problems with my presets on my new Sierra and found that they would only got to full set position with the seat belt locked in place. There was a recall on the Sierra seats this week and when I went in to the dealership was told there was also a recall related to a software patch to fix the preset seat/recall system. Truck goes in Tuesday and we'll see if that fixes what initiates how the recall works.

Sounds like this May be a similar problem on the vette.

Ok, I read through the manual and I thought I had your answer until I read this:

"Auto Memory Recall
This allows the feature to be turned on or off.
Select Off, On - Driver Door Open, or On - At Ignition On (Automatic Transmission only)."

It looks like what you want it to do requires an auto trans............

You might want to try the On - At Ignition On setting but I doubt it will even be there or if it is it probably won't do anything.

I was reading the manual earlier this week and read about the easy exit position of the seats. The seat moves so it is east]y to get in and out of the car. If its like the C5 and C7 the seat won't automatically adjust when you get in the car, You have to initiate the seat position. It is a pain in the butt.

Actually on all cars it can be set to return when the drivers door is opened which would make it easy exit, not entry and on automatics it can be set to return when the ignition is turned on for easy entry and exit. Manual cars don't get the On - At Ignition On option.

For those who use this feature you might try the return on drivers door open. Getting out is a lot harder than getting in for many so that may be the best compromise.

Do you need the seat that far back for easy entry and exit? You might consider resetting the easy exit position on the seat further forward.

Recall memory activates upon door open

Has anyone had the auto mem on and have everything set to the drive setting upon opening the drivers door? The exit feature works fine, but I cannot get auto mem to work. My c7 is a manual shift and I do have the parking brake on. I called GM and could not get much help after 30 minutes on the phone. At this point, my best appraoch is to turn the auto mem off and hold the set 1 or 2 button until drive positions are reached. ANY IDEAS??

Actually I'm having the same issue. It moves back to exit position when I open the door to exit but when I reenter and press and hold the memory seat button it is hot or miss if it's going to work. Sometimes it works fine but other times I have to register press it to get it back into driving position as it will only move slightly. I also found that when my mirrors move down for reverse mode they do not move back to my saved setting until I press and hold the memory button again.

I took it to the dealer but they couldn't get the issue to present itself so they couldn't do anything. I did talk to them about having them look at it again when I'm there so we can work through it together. Going to do that when I get my oil changed, probably end of Feb.

My C7 is also a manual btw.

Does anyone know how the auto memory recall is supposed to work? The owners manual doesn't explain how it should work. The lady I spoke with at GM thinks it should be a momentary push of the appropriate set button (1 or 2) once you close the door. I find it really hard to get into the car when everything resets to drive settings when I open the door (i.e. before I can get into the car).

If you have found a way to make this work better, please let me know.

Have the same issues with the seat. Maybe we can bring the issue up to costumer care. Until then I will lock the settings and forget about the easy out feature. I really do not need it. On my 01 it had the setting for my wife on her remote and I had my own. The c7 system has the issues.
