Pro Clip cell phone holder review - Poor company

A few years ago I ordered a Pro Clip cell phone mount for my C7 after seeing it in a fellow club member's C7. It was pricier that most mounts by quite a bit, and you had to order the mount in 2 parts; one part that clips to the console grab handle, and the part that holds the phone is purchased separately and attaches to the base. It worked GREAT for a couple years, and I was very pleased with it.

I was disappointed when the clip started falling off the console grab handle this year, and upon inspecting noticed the plastic had failed where the mount clips into a groove on the front side of the console handle. It should not have failed so quickly, given this car is only driven 3k miles per year and is garaged all the time. I contacted customer service, and was told it is outside the one year warranty, buy another one. Most companies I've dealt with even outside the warranty tend to do a good faith replacement (this part probably only costs them a couple bucks to manufacture, probably an overestimate). Not Pro-Clip. They would rather have an angry customer bash them on public forums to save two bucks. Because the poor review I wrote on their website was NOT posted, (they only post the positive reviews). So they are falsifying their reviews too, making it look like everyone has a 5 star experience with their crap product.

Sorry to hear you had a problem. I've used ProClip mounts in several cars, and never had anything but great results.

Buying the mount in two pieces is great, btw. When I got my C8, I only had to change the part that attaches to the car - the phone holder I just swapped over. And if I get a new phone that won't fit in the old holder, I only have to order that part, not an entire mount.
Glad yours is holding up. Like I said, it worked great until it didn't. I was more upset with the complete lack of care for the customer shown by the company, and their fraudulent reviews on their site, refusing to post my review. Lack of integrity. For now I've zip tied the base to the grab handle. Not the most elegant solution but seems to be not falling off, and I don't want to give them another dime. Had they not been so lousy to me, their customer, I would have considered buying them for other cars too.

I got the zip tie idea from another C7 buddy with same mount who was also having issues with his falling off, getting bumped off by his wife, but his didn't actually break apart like mine.
Well after ordering one of those others that is held by a piece of Velcro and returning that POS I ordered the ProClip. Regarding the phone mount, I went a different route. Having a Mob Armor in my other car and on my Harley I have made up several magnetic holders. So my phone has a plate so all I did was add a plate to the mount face and a double sided magnet and it works great.

I agree with you 100%. I complained to customer service after having the mount in my 2014 Vette “I don’t give a damn, it’s not our issue” attitude from ProClip customer service. The clip has loosened up and keeps sliding down the hand grip. STAY AWAY FROM PRO CLIP. THE COMPANY NEEDS TO RESPOND BETTER TO CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS.

Don’t have a phone mount in my C8 it’s all done with Bluetooth. Nav screen and maps are flawless.
ProClip worked fine in my C7. There must be other solutions.
