Wondering when your car was built or the VIN.

There is some talk on other forums that GM is well aware of the issues with this screen, and that there will be a new screen issued to all owners by spring. Be sure to take this with a grain or two of salt. You know how internet forums are... I think they will have to do something though as there are a bunch of owners with problems with theirs. Check with your dealer to see what he suggests. I would hold off on letting them replace it with the same unit until we find out if there is really a "new" unit in the parts pipeline.

Wow, this happens even after all the time in Nashville? Damn. Mine has been in BG quarantine since being born on 10/14. I sure hope it's released soon and with issues corrected. Good luck and better days ahead.

I've been using the screen up and down function for 5 weeks now, and no problems at all. I wonder if it's not just a simple connector loose, or a harness that's not tight in the dash wiring??

I now hear there will be a ECM "re-flash" coming shortly that is designed to address several issues people have been experiencing within the interior. Stay tuned...

I am having a problem with my video screen flickering on and off. It does this intermittently. It happens for a couple of days then will be fine for a couple of days. Noting in area behind screen so that doesn't appear to be the problem. I plan on taking in to dealer next week but just wanted to see if anyone else was having the same issue. other than the dash dimming issue (apprently fixed with a software update) and a rattle under the console the car has been flawless for the first 3k miles. My VIN is 643 so one of the earlier ones.

Wow - do they still have cars quarantined in Nashville? I thought I had heard that they had been released. That amount of delay seems totally excessive - what is your dealer telling you?

I've been very lucky, knock on wood. No problems with my screen going up and down nor with the dimming effect mentioned either. Mine wasn't an early one build tho. VIN is 8500.

Thanks for posting JCobalt. I haven't had any problems with RedHot's display but others have. Good to see that GM expects to have a resolution some time in February.

My guess based on what happened with my XTS, which was one of the first ones delivered, is that it will ultimately be a replacement for some. With the XTS CUE some of the similar problems were resolved by software updates, but then the ones with out-of-control screen issues were resolved via a complete replacement. Following the replacement there were no further issues.

I'm now officially in the screen flicker club. 1500 miles VIN less than 2000. Waiting til feb to see if it's a software glitch or new screen to fix

I just got my car back yesterday with one of the problems being the screen flicker. GM aknoledged the problem was a software issue but do not have a released sversion of software that will resolve the issue. My service rep told me it will be another two to three weeks befor it is released. He also indicated that the problem was seen in other models but has been resolved.
