Installing paint protective film is an incredibly difficult skill to master.

This is different if one is installing it for a ride home --like Museum Delivery, for example, the protective temporary film TracWrap made by the same makers of XPel.

Can someone tell me if having the factory stinger creates any issues with installing Xpel or similar protective films on the car?

I have read posts where the paint protection film will not conform precisely to the edge of the stripe. I will likely have the film installed and apply a stripe over the film.
Xpel wants the stripe on first then the film. A good installer knows what to do...

I haven't seen a car with the stinger in person to know how well defined the edge of it is. If it's too big of a compromise for the Xpel install, I may delete the stinger from my order.

Glen, seems Xpel may be giving mixed signals. I visited their both at Carlisle this year, and was told it is acceptable to do it either way...and the rep seemed to lean towards putting the stripe on after the Xpel. Logic would lead one to believe putting Xpel over the stripe would afford protection to the strip. But then again, there have been posts about the film not conforming to the stripe's edge. I agree with you, seek the advise of a good installer!

P.S. Let there be no mistake, Glen e knows more about maintaining/detailing a car than me by a very wide margin. I'm simply sharing what I have read and been told.
