I thought that dash view would change when you change the driving mode. Currently the only thing that changes is the letters at the bottom to indicate what mode you are in. Is this normal?

Thats the way mine is too. I think it might be the default setting from the factory. The dash view can be linked to the driving mode by changing the setting. The manual describes how to do it. Personally I prefer having the same view for all the modes so I haven't changed mine.

Watch the video guys, apparently the factory setting is not to have it linked to the mode setting and you need to update that. Once you get into the menus you can also change which dash type is associated with which mode setting.

That too is how mine was set from the factory. When I went through training on the system at my dealership the instructor showed me how to sync it with the driving mode. I thought that would be pretty cool. I found that most of the time I drive in Tour mode and I really like the Sport mode dash display the best. So I changed it to Sport mode layout all of the time, including the HUD. But that’s just me, your preferences may vary.

For those who learn best from seeing an example, here is GM's short instructional video on setting-up the C7 Gauge Cluster and DIC configuration.
