Re: The 3lt interior in black

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE BLACK INTERIOR ON A 3LT IS ANY DIFFERENT THAN THE 2LT. I'M REFERRING TO THE CONSOLE AND THE DASH AS WELL AS THE SEATS. ( COLORED STITCHING ON THE SEATS ETC. )
I'M TRYING TO JUSTIFY SPENDING THE EXTRA MONEY ON A 3LT WHEN I CAN ADD THE NAVIGATION AND BE AT THE SAME PLACE.

I have the 3LT Black interior. It is very nice and soft. I have only seen the 2LT once and it was also very nice but different types of leather. The stitching is almost the same.

I agree with the comment above, you should go sit in a few different ones at the dealers. I feel that I made the right choice for me with the 3LT. Enjoy hunting.

I have velocity yellow with black wheels and 2LT black interior and it looks great. I worry about the 3LT "Napa Leather" aside from spending the extra couple of thousand $$$ if its softer leather it will wear fast! Think of your jeans rubbing the side bolsters as you get in and out of the car.

According to the brochure, The only areas that have the Napa leather are the seat inserts. The bolsters, door panels, dash, etc., are something else. Probably a mix of Moulan leather and vinyl.

I am pretty sure there is no vinyl in my C7 in the areas you talk about.

Per Ryan Vaughn, StingRay Interior Design Manager, GM did signficant abrasion testing to confirm that even the softer Napa 3LT leather met or exceeded the identical abrasion resistance testing standards as did the the "harder" 2LT leather.

At the same time, "ddelphino's" caution about how you get into and out of your bolstered StingRay's seats is very sage advice for every one of us. Avoid all "genuine, old fashioned jeans" with protruding rivets, etc., or be extra, extra careful each time you exit or enter your car.

can anyone answer... stupid question
I ordered 2LT with Black interior... what is the top of the dash... is it leather with stitching, or is it vinyl?
I noticed 3LT stated Custom Leather-wrapped interior and I wasn't sure if it was just for the added color areas.

One magazine reviewer, did a video review and stated that other than the 2LT not having the smell of real weather, he could not tell, the difference. The vinyl being used in the 1LT and 2LT has a great looking pattern, even has silk fibers in it. Very nice!
