So I was watching a manufacturing video on the C7 with Tadge Jeuchter and they noted there are air intakes that are installed by the dealer on delivery (they can't be put on in Bowling Green because they are too low to fit on the cargo trucks). These air intakes divert air channeled under the car into another deflector that then uses the air flow to cool the rear disc brakes and rotors. Awesome engineering in and of it self.
I just went out to see what they looked like and also reached into them.
I was able to find multiple small stones in each air intake. I don't know if the sound could ever be heard in the cabin, or if there is any chance they could be blown through the system but either way, I will be cleaning mine out regularly.

Thanks for pointing this out. I presume you are talking about a Z51?

That duct begs for an aftermarket piece of shaped expanded S.S. or Al. grating shaped to fit that opening.
