I have an AW, 2LT, non-Z51...are the rear air ducts on the "haunches" actually venting anything or is that only on the Z51?
They appear to have concave plastic inserts under the grills that dont actually allow air to go anywhere....

If you have an automatic , one vents to cooling that, both are false wth a stick.

Not to worry, they don't exist at all in convertibles, Z51 or not. Guess they're more for show than anything.

Why be "disappointed"?, you aren't at the track, and stuff doesn't get down into the Vents and clog … I'm glad they're not functional on my car.

As I have a Z51 convertible I would like to know if the rear vents are functional??? cutnout aka Charlie
When we toured the factory a couple of weeks ago, I was informed by a worker and noticed two things:

* First, the convertibles are vented from the bottom as the vents cannot be installed on the movable top/tonneau cover.
* Convertibles have a fan on the cooler located in the bottom left corner of the car to provide extra cooling. This cooler and fan
are no longer visible once the rear fascia covering is installed. Coupes did NOT have this fan. The vents on the coupes appeared
to be functional as ducting was noted.
* Judging from the spoiler on these cars it was observed they were Z-51.

And some folks that have tracked their A6 Z51 have reported overheating the transmission so the cooling for the automatic may not be sufficient for track duty.

And as other have said when can you track a Z51 vert w/o a roll cage.
