They are regular bulbs. You can buy LEDs for them from several Corvette aftermarket vendors.

They are easy to replace, btw...once you figure out how to slide the lenses off.

The color rendering of the LED's are higher, so they have a more "daylight" color than halogen. its not really brighter, just looks like it is.

Why does everyone want super bright led lights on rear? I like the white light and all, but is rather have a white barely on light so people don't see my plate!!!

The brighter the better! Gives it that nice euro look.. Halogen bulbs are 1990's

Same bulbs, very easy to swap out the old style peanut bulbs. Why GM scrimped in this area we'll never know.

The cargo area bulbs are the same ones for the license plate ? Are those easy to install as well?

For what it’s worth, put install info on my web site for both license plate and cargo area bulbs. The licese plant light replacement is in the owner’s manual but the other is not. Both are simple but I show where to put a small screw driver to remove the cargo light.

I am thinking about this mod and wondering is this so the cops can see my license plate better or ? Personally I think the $15 mod is not worth doing, don't get mad cause I love your car and everything you did to it except this.....

All BMWs and European cars have led tag lights.. It's a must...it's more visible and looks amazing!
