I was filling up the other day. Left side. Here in Cali we have the extra fumes recovery collar. Well this has to be pressed back enough to actuate the delivery. So you press it against your filler neck. On some pumps one push and you can auto-fill (clip on nozzle handle). On others you have to keep manual pressure on the nozzle pump and twist and turn it so back flow doesn't turn it off.
I had to do this this time. After the tank was full I couldn't get the nozzle out of the filler neck. It was in there tight. After a few big pulls it came out with a snap.
I think the recovery collar locked over the outside of the car's filler neck.

The guy in front of me the other day ended up trying to get the nozzle back out for over 5 minutes. When I fueled up it also hung up when I tried to pull it out of WhiteHot. After about a minute of trying different angles, it released and I noticed the nozzle had a slightly different extruded ring around the end of it and believe that somehow got caught on the inside of the filler tube.
