We are officially registered, and set to run the weekend of March 22nd. The high speed for a 2014 Vette currently is 166.7. We look to better that, and hope to cross the 175 barrier.

You can use gaffers tape and tape the lines of the car to make it more aerodynamic, but we won't do that. Since we will run under 200 the things needed are minimum. Helmet, gloves, drivers long sleeve shirt, long pants, closed toed/rubber sole shoes, fire extinguisher has to be mounted in the car with easy access. The rest are safety checks on the car itself. Over 200 and a lot more has to be done (car and driver).

Not very familiar with the competition...why would you not run tape? For classing purposes or just for the looks? Can you make other aerodynamic improvements like removing the side mirrors or spoiler?

Wow! How did you get in? Last week I tried to sign up, but only waiting list was available. Any secrets?

I am just not that serious...my goal is to exceed 170 which I think I can do without taping it. Usually taping it makes a significant difference for the serious guys,

I called them directly and the wait list was just starting...they called me back later and registered me. If you are on the list, you will probably get on as they expect 20 cancellations and only 7 on the wait right now.

I would think it would at those speeds (I have a background in aerospace engineering). In that case, good luck hitting your goal and have fun!

Yea, I did get a fire extinguisher and NHRA mount, and actually think it will look good in the car. I actually have to make a qualifying pass so will see what it feels like...if need be I will tape, but really don't think I will need to in order to exceed 170.

Ran 3 passes and was consistent at 173.8 mph. Have a couple vids but have to edit.
