0-60 times on the street

For whatever reason our search engine doesn't find any threads with 0-60 or 0 to 60 or zero to sixty in ay posts. Don't know why, but my question is what is an expected time on the street with z51 tires on it? Or what have been your times?

I have not been able to hook up great where the car just launched, and my best time where I got it to hook up at low rpm drop (I have a manual) and not have it hesitate much the first few feet has been a 4.5. Haven't been able to get a 4.5 again since. All 4.8 and 4.7s. Have not tried launch control but will give it a go.

Please post your times runs and what your experience is. Thanks!

Been having to much fun driving the beast to stop long enough to do any 0 to 60 runs. ;)

i just tried mine the other day for the first time (1,400 miles, +/-)--Z51, npp,at,all season tires (not stock), turnpike-type road,non-launch mode, touring mode. did 4.5 seconds, only one pass. the best ive seen is i believe 3.7, posted on another forum, and the average (median) seems to be about 4.2. assuming a normal distribution, id say from the data that 3.7 and 4.7 would be about the 3rd standard deviation. you have to assume that the 3.8 was the best that could reasonably be expected, and that the typical conditions would not produce that time. also, i have to try the sport and track mode. note to OP: if you have not tried this before, and never driven a really fast car (which was my case), hold on tight. youre in for a real jolt.

******UPDATE: did second run, in sport mode this time: 4.2 seconds--im a contender(i arbitrarily set 4.2 seconds as contender status, until someone comes up with better criterion)! shpuld have mentuoned i have AT.

im going to try the track mode, and work up to launch mode. goal is 3.8 seconds. ill buy, if i hit it. it doesnt sound like there are very many out there that have tried the launch mode. afraid? personally, i dont think the trade off of the wheel spin vs. higher launch revs is worth it--particularly with police around.

Thanks. Do you have an automatic? What did you Launch at ? I don't think there is much difference in the 7spd in terms of straight line perf between touring mode and sport mode

GM posts 3.80 with automatic, 3.85 with manual, does not differentiate between base and Z-51.

Best magazine time, with their 1' roll, is MotorTrend's 3.7.

I have recorded two 0-60s in RedHot done without launch control, at 4.2 sec. each. I know I could do better than that since I did not push her but just wanted to see what times I would get, hear how it sounded (fantastic!) and not try and reduce the life of my tires.

I really believe I could knock off at least a ten or two tenths by pushing her harder but did not try. I was happy with the whole experience and ease of doing the 4.2 runs in opposite directions.

4.5 is all I can get.
I broke my 4.5. Dropped it at 2200 rpm or so. Tires peeled out about 10 feet, let up throttle enough during the 10ft to jok it back up, jammed it and got 4.4. Seems to be more important getting a good jump no matter peel out or not. If I got same jump without peel out, and/or feathered the throttle a bit better after take off, I can see how under 4 is possible.

despite your comments to me on another site, i will advise that i have run my car twice, and got 4.5, the 4.2, on touring and sport mode respectively. dont know if mode is relevant. have z51 with npp, all weather michelin tires, non-launch mode, AT, road hot/dry--turnpike entry ramp concrete. tires squealed briefly on both passes, just enough to feel that i was getting full power, but not too much to slow down acceleration.
