Guys someone explain this to me. I ordered my car with the carbon fiber body color trim and had to also get the transparent roof option. which was ok what I don't understand is the roof that would have come with the car, the body color. which would have been in the cost of car I don't get. In another words had I not ordered the option package I would have gotten the roof. To me the roof was in addition to the option.
anyway if sounds confusing your right

Actually, what happened is they switched your order from a body-colored carbon fiber roof to a transparent roof (not both), and charged you the difference in price (the transparent is about $995 more expensive than the body-colored carbon fiber roof).

They did this because there is a shortage of carbon fiber roofs. By swapping to the higher-priced transparent roof, your order was able to get placed more quickly instead of waiting on a carbon fiber roof to become available.

Does that answer all your questions?

Given how long the body colored CF roof has been on constraint, it would seem that GM should have made the transparent roof the standard roof and any other arrangement (either a dual roof option or one of the other two choices) the optional configuration. While I am delaying my order being moved from 1100, my choice, until January, my build is for the dual roof (transparent and body color) option. I hope that GM or its suppliers fix the bottleneck before January.

Don't feel bad....this was confusing me for quite a while until I cleared it up with MacMulkin.

yes thank you I quess my next question is can I order the roof later and worry about the paint not looking the same. oh by the way mine is Z51, 3LT due to start production on 10/27 laguna blue With the exception of the roof and I did want the option. I got everything I wanted even the carbon dash. So I am happy

On this (also to me confusing) subject of roofs, I am slated to get the C2Z option on my Z06. What will this look like? Is it solid CF? Transparent? Any body color trim? Will it be my only roof? Does anyone have a pic or 2 to share?

Thanks!

Yep, that's why mine isn't going through, getting ready to dump that option and buy one aftermarket from a vendor.

Hi Ron,

It will have a carbon fiber weave that you can see. From several feet away it looks black, but as you get closer you can see the weave pattern.

It is NOT transparent. You cannot see anything on the other side.

There is body-colored trim. There are two strips of paint, back-to-front, one on each side of the car. Those strips are just above the doors.

Is it solid? Well, the carbon fiber is, but there will be interior trim on the headliner side which faces inside your car.

With C2Z, it will be your only roof. If you want a dual roof (the one you are getting plus a transparent roof you can see through), you need to change the order code from C2Z to C2M. They have the same constraint now, so if you can get C2Z then you can get C2M. It is just that C2M costs more money for the second roof, of course.

Pictures.. Hum... There are a lot. Here is one on post #91 at the top of the page: http://www.stingrayforums.com/forum...al-red-stingray-corvette-photo-thread-10.html
