In my Z51 with auto transmission, when I'm accelerating hard I get round lights coming on above my instrument cluster. It will also show up in my HUD. Seems to happen only when I'm at high RPMs. I'm assuming it's related to a red line situation, a warning maybe, but I can't find anything in my owners manual concerning it, has anyone got the answer?

They are shift indicator lights, they change as you get closer to redline so you can shift before hitting the rev limiter.

Section 5-28 has a graphic and very brief mention labeling them "shift indicator lights"

It sounds like everyone is assuming the OP is describing the Track Mode (my assumption as well) display. Here's a nice video showing the shift lights in operation.

It still sounds to me like KIM was talking about Track Mode.

That's not to diminish the "halo effect" of Sport Mode, which I also like.
