Well my friends it is a sad day for me...I'm letting my 2017 C7 go. I've only owned it for a year now and I Love it but only driven it 900 miles. Had to buy a charger to keep the battery up because it was parked so much. Do not know why I didn't drive the heck out of it. If I could answer that, well maybe I would not let her go.
When I start it up, the hair on my neck stands up with anticipation and thrill, I love opening the garage and seeing the big smile of the front profile. I truly love this car, but it's like owning a race horse and keeping in the barn all the time. My neighbors will be disappointed also, not all that wanted a ride will get one. :sorrow:

CaptnKidd, your golf cart won't be the same without your C7 Masterpiece sitting beside it, at least you experienced 900 miles of smiles!

No fun when you own something, but then have no time to use it. I have an amateur radio friend who has more money than time. He buys expensive amateur radio items, then piles them up in his storage spot without ever even opening the box. I tell him he is going to need a mausoleum with a storage locker behind it.

Best you let that race horse out on the road with another jockey aboard.

CaptnKidd, sorry to see you letting such a nice C7 go. I've had mine for 3 years and still get that smile. It shares time with my C4 and my daily driver, but wouldn't part with it. Just told my daughter that it would be great to have a job where I just drive a C7 all day. It never gets old.

You will now make someone else have that fun feeling. There is always something positive to every sad day.

I try to force myself to take mine out at least once every two weeks. I feel like it is a chore. "Oh, yeah, I need to go drive it again."

Rodney, I'll come out and drive her home and keep her in tip top shape!

Captnkidd, sorry to hear about the sale hoping you get your price.

Captnkidd, beautiful C7. You should have a happy buyer with the low miles. Good luck with the sale.

Sorry that you're letting it go, wholly cow only 900 miles? I know some owners buy them to collect or take out on very special occasions, however, life is worth celebrating and if you're breathing and able to drive why not enjoy a sprited drive in one of the most impressive cars ever built!

I'm saying this to all the members even though I'm new, if you own such a wonderful car that you're proud of then take it out and drive it! Our cars weren't meant to be locked away like a piece of art as a garage queen. Drive it!

Life is to short get out and drive!

Gnarley!

Gnarley, "like a piece of art" heh it is a C7 "Masterpiece", but your right you can still wheel the hell out of it!!!

I know the feeling. The c7 hibernates in the winter and it’s not a car that you can take everywhere. I never can feel comfortable taking it to the local mall or even to the restaurant or a casino. It attracts attention and sometimes the wrong kind of attention.
Then there’s the weather factor too. I’m in the Midwest so I don’t enjoy prime driving weather like San Diego. Many days I’d take it out and then it starts to rain. I spend a lot of time keeping my black beauty immaculate therefore don’t drive it in the rain.
I have a 2017 stingray bought it new 3 months ago and have 1600 miles on it. So I did get to drive it some but wish I drove it more.
Snow forecast today. Hopefully a couple more days I can drive it before I throw the battery charger and cover on it.

I thought I was reading my story, I'm 67 waited all my life for one. It's a 2017 Stingray 2lt auto, white red interior. I have it 17 Months with 1950 miles, I take it to the gym, haircut and on the parkway to make sure I drive it a bit. I live in South Florida, scared to drive it with all these nuts on the road. I put it up for sale and am torn, doesn't make sense to own it if your not driving it. I go in the garage and like CaptnKidd look at it-It's a beautiful car.

I don't understand why you would not drive a dream car all the time. I have a 2016 & use it EVERYDAY, to work too. I have almost 35K miles on it. I waited most of my life to own one, so why would I SAVE it? You only live once & you probably save everything to have things when you get older. Now it is time to use & enjoy what you have. I don't care what the resale values will be so someone else can enjoy it after me. Sorry, but you wasted having a great car that now someone else will enjoy at a big discount. A Denali is NOTHING compared to a Corvette!

I did not waste having a great car, so I did not drive it like you do, that does not mean I did not enjoy it everyday. Don't be so quick to judge someone. I many reasons why I replaced it with a Denali, if things change in my life, maybe I will buy another one, but today was not the day to own it.

I'm just as bad--about 16,000 miles in three years. Car is about to go up on the rack for winter storage and won't come down until April. But I am driving it now in frigid Chicago because my ordered BMW 5 Series is still on a boat. Due in later this week or early next. Snow possible here late today hopefully farther south, but so far they haven't put down any salt. Salt will be the death knell for my winter driving. BTW, despite all the worries about driving on our summer tires (Pilot Sports, not Cup 2s), as long as I drive it like a Toyota Corolla it seems fine. But as widely reported here and on other forums, the seat heaters are really weak. Corvette engineers should go sit in a BMW on a cold day to see what seat heaters are supposed to be like. Then as punishment, they should be sentenced to a cold day in the Corvette. -Bob

I'm also 67 and have wanted a Vet for a long time. I also understand why someone would buy a Vet and not really enjoy it; change of priorities, lifestyle changes or maybe you finally got that special something you've always wanted and it doesn't live up to expectations. Driving for me is a passion, for a lot of others it isn't and I respect that. And a Vet is made to be driven (yes it looks nice in the garage, but the best views are from behind the wheel). Hope you enjoy your Denali and that whomever gets your Vet will enjoy that as well.

You are correct about the change of priorities, we needed a pickup and could not own all three (vette, GLS 450 Mercedes & a pickup) and there was no way to trade in the wife's GLS and live through it. LOL. You was wrong about not enjoying it, I enjoyed every minute of ownership, and yes the best view was from behind the wheel. By the way the new owner is the local dealers wife and she told me when ever I want to drive it, just let her know. As Travco stated "It's tuff thing giving up your Vette"

I had a sad day recently too. After 31 years, I sold my 87 Buick Grand National to a friend, after telling myself I'd never do it. But with 24K miles (most in the first 5 years) it never got driven.

The pot of gold here, is that the Vette finally gets to sleep in the garage...

Tuff thing giving up your Vette!
