Could someone please post a picture of Settings-Blueetooth. I need to see the last seeting if present called text alerts. If you look on infotainment manual on pg 69-70 it says if equipped. If it is present please let me know what interior pkg you installed. Thank you

Hi Cybervette... I'm working on this for you. I have 2LT with nav. I'll send you what I have with regard to the Bluetooth Settings. Because you got the 3LT, I would think that your C7 would be equipped with this feature. I'm having camera issues. The pics I've uploaded recently weren't taken by me, but sent to me by others. I understand you're curious about how the "text alerts" appears on the screen?

Uh oh!!! I ordered a 2LT and was under the impression that the only difference with the 3LT is seats, dash/console/door panel leather, and Nav (std w/3LT). Is there a different level of electronics and, if so, what source can identify those differences? Thanks much.

Not necessarily an Apple thing. I bluetoothed a Galaxy phone and it still was absent from my screen. So if anyone has a car please take the picture.
Text alerts are not in the current release of the Stingray MyLink software or at least it wasn't in the last version that I saw in early September. Glen is right that there were some thing to iron out with Apple for the text app for the Stingray MyLink. There is a better system coming for Stingray over the text alert system in other models as referenced in the manual.

After a great deal of time trying to figure out the text messaging options, I realized that... although the Manual doesn't say to do this, the info provided as you go to settings states, "For compliance info visit: www.johnsoncontrols.com/cluster-software"

I'm going there now, but I think we have to purchase a "software upgrade" also per the Manual... i.e. visit chevy.com for software updates, etc.

Ok, here's what I'm gathering... we need to contact GM in order to obtain the Johnson Controls software update information. I'm not certain if we need to pay extra for the software update for text messaging, which it does state we could have that option. My husband is a tech guy and we sat in the car for over an hour tonight as 2 of our other vehicles have the text messaging features. Not only am I going to reach out to GM, but I'm also going to contact the lady who GM sent to train me on my C7 the day I picked it up. Texting wasn't discussed/covered. I see "where" the option should go for me to select it, BUT it's not there. I see the Bluetooth on many screens, etc.

More to come...

Thanks Talon. How do you know this? Are there plans to add this software in our cars?

Thanks Again
I worked with several validation vehicles to review the Infotainment system. I presented an introduction to the Stingray Infotainment system seminar at the National Corvette Museum in August and a training session for some of the museum folks. There are both text and email apps under evaluation. They were simply not ready at launch.

Contacting Johnson Controls won't do any good. They will tell you to contact the manufacturer for applications specific to the vehicle platform.

The manual excerpt is a carry over from the Malibu implementation where that section of the manual was derived.

And I might add when it is available it will not be avail direct to the customer (on like a USB) but will have to be reflashed from a dealer. That's the way the motor vehicle laws and protocol is in the car biz...A tech will have to verify and sign off that it is a good install....
