My dealer told me that the seat position will have to be set, press 1 on the door (after you set it initially) each time I get in. That was true for the first couple times, but I must have done something either with the door buttons or in the infotainment center. Now each time I open the door the seat moves forward and wheel comes down before I even get in. I'm happy about that! I think, not sure if I still will be when I have my purse and briefcase in tow. Someone said here that the manual is very vague, they aren't kidding!

I can make my seat go back for easy exit when i open the door. But i have to push and hold the 1 button until it returns to my set position. That seems odd. Any other GM vehicle I have owned with memory seats has always returned to the number 1 position when you unlock the door. I am sure I am doing something wrong. BTW, I can program a VCR!

The seat exit/memory is half baked for 7 speed cars...plenty all over the web about this...software update needed....not avail yet...

I think I may not have been clear in my last post.... When I turn the car off and open the door the seat does go back for easy exit. The next time I open the door to get in, the seat goes forward to my set position. This seemed to have happened when I pressed set and exit at same time instead of 1 & exit. But I also played with several setting in the infotainment center as well. YIKES!!! I hope that makes more sense.

My seat goes back for easy exit when i turn the car off and open the door. it will not return to the memory position unless i hold the 1 button. I will try your suggestion VetteGirl and see what happens. As Glen says, it might be a 7-speed thing.

My set up was by accident. I don't know why it does go forward when I open the door. It is odd, my 2008 Z06 worked fine. I'm sure they will come up with a fix. Btw, I too have the 7 speed. Just as long as the rest continues to work, I won't mind waiting for the fix.

The seats are some what peculiar. The infotainment has a setting to return the seat to last programmed position when you open the door. Mine doesn't want to work well with the exit setting. But the sears have a limit/pressure thing going on with the carpet if it touches the carpet that seems to over ride everything else. Also I too have to hold the memory buttons to get the seats back in position IF it didn't go there when the door opens. Associated wit that are the mirrors turning down when the car goes into reverse bur drivers mirror a crap shoot where it ends up after reverse an exiting car. WHEW!!M

Hi rc jr,

What do you mean pressure? And touching carpet? Do you mean as low as the seat will go then it touches carpet?
I don't use the tilt mirrors in reverse mode, in fact I don't use the back up cam, it's a trust issue!!! I'd rather look, but that comes from having a CDL license I guess.

Does anyone know if you have to park in gear with 7 speed? When I bought my 2008 Z06 6 speed, I was told I had to park in reverse to keep battery from draining. It hasn't been mentioned in the manual or by the dealer.

The problem remains for manual transmission cars, that the easy exit/entry system is not working fully/properly. Sad, as it worked well for all C6's.

My seat goes back when I turn off the car however it will not automatically go forward to my memory position when I start the car. Furthermore, pushing the memory button does not work. I have to slide the seat forward and then hit the memory seat button a few times or more to get it to work. And I know you have to hold it down until it reaches the saved setting. Hope Chevy gets this figured out. Problems could be worse so I am thankful that this is the only issue I am having.

Sad to think "they" improved a vehicle system to the point that it does not work. Makes you wonder how something like this happens?
Same way we get no text, the dusk problem, or the diminished on/off NPP settings vs the 5 planned, as written in the sales manual: it was a rush to market with a product due to promise times.....

Under Comfort & Convenience, turn on Auto Recall & it should move seat to "your" saved setting when opening door. Section 3-5
Does fine in moving the seat back, before you get out, but doesn't work fully in a manual trans car when you back get in and want the seat, etc to move back to their original position.

Hmmmm, mine works with my manual trans. I actually turned Auto Recall off, so its easier to get into. Once I'm in, I press 1 and everything moves into my setting.
That's the way I would want it to work in my opinion. When I shut the car off or open the door to get out, I want the seat to move rearward for easy exit. I don't want the seat to move forward before I get in the car, as that defeats the purpose of easy entry. I want the seat to stay rearward until after I have gotten in and am seated. Can it work that way?

That's a good point.
