Jeff, it absolutely amazes me the technology and design GM's engineers have come up with in connection to the latest generation of engines. The CNC'd recesses in the decks of the pistons and combustion chamber designs are incredible. The port angles, shapes and sizes are light years from where they came from..... Truly impressive.

Yes for sure! One recess is for a valve and the other for the fuel. Also found out that the LT4 has a two speed oil pump that cuts back when it goes into V4. Amazing technology and of course Barry and his crews skill in taking it apart and getting it put back together (hopefully in time to go into John's car next week...just kidding John).

Nice work Jeff. Thanks from us all!
Thanks John, though it is exhausting because it is so large, it is my pleasure to cover it. Many more posts and pictures to come.

Just what is SEMA for those who might not be familiar with it.

[In my role as StingrayForums Photojournalist, here is a bit or ‘journalist’ to go along with the photos on my related posts.] Some background on SEMA for those who might not know much or anything about the show:

SEMA aka Specialty Equipment Market Association, was founded in 1963. It is a trade-only show and not open to the public, and goes on for 4 days. It currently has more than 6,800 member companies who either manufacture, sell, distribute and or market automotive specialty-equipment parts and accessories. 2014 has more than 2,500 exhibitors (spread out over a ginormous convention center), with over 60,000 buyers in attendance and about 25% of them are from outside the US. OEMs often use the even to showcase their latest products and or prototypes. For example last year Corvette showed two prototype C7s that became available this year.

As some of our members can attest, aftermarket is big business. In 2013 consumers bought more than $33.4 billion in non-repair/replacement parts and accessories to personalize their cars, trucks and SUVs.

As part of SEMA I visited Peter Brocks Aerovault’s factory and got a chance to see the progress these unique Peter Brock-designed aerodynamic trailers. They are testing out to be really windcheating and incredibly easy to haul. All of the equipment has been custom made by Peter's crew since the design uses curved square tubing. Really pretty amazing to see. Here are some pictures of the prototype- actual finished model is about to roll of his production line :

The car is brought in by winch making it really an easy one person operation.

This proved to be one additional really cool thing about the Aerovault. Ron Carter of Geoskygps has designed a very small tracking device (about the size of a deck of cards, fully self contained- that is doesn't need any external antennae) the alerts the own if the trailer door is opened or the trailer is moved via text message to your phone. It also tells you have fast, the location and where it is going. I think this would be a great device for anyone who has a trailer. PM me if you would like more info.
