Bulletin No.: 13384
Date: November 2013

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM

SUBJECT: Low Rear Differential Fluid Level

MODELS: 2014 Chevrolet Corvette

THIS PROGRAM IS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOVEMBER 30, 2015.

CONDITION
The rear differential assembly in certain 2014 model year Chevrolet Corvette vehicles may
have been shipped from the supplier with insufficient fluid. Operating the vehicle without
sufficient fluid in the rear differential assembly could produce a loud whine and/or gear or
bearing noise.
CORRECTION
Dealers are to inspect the rear differential fluid level and add fluid, if necessary. If fluid is
required, dealers are to also road-test the vehicle and listen for rear axle noise. If a whine, gear
or bearing noise is present, dealers are to replace the rear differential assembly.
VEHICLES INVOLVED
All involved vehicles are identified by Vehicle Identification Number on the Investigate Vehicle
History screen in GM Global Warranty Management system. Dealership service personnel
should always check this site to confirm vehicle involvement prior to beginning any required
inspections and/or repairs. It is important to routinely use this tool to verify eligibility because
not all similar vehicles may be involved regardless of description or option content.
For dealers with involved vehicles, a listing with involved vehicles containing the complete
vehicle identification number, customer name, and address information has been prepared and
will be provided to US and Canadian dealers through the GM GlobalConnect Recall Reports, or
sent directly to export dealers. Dealers will not have a report available if they have no involved
vehicles currently assigned.
The listing may contain customer names and addresses obtained from Motor Vehicle
Registration Records.

NickJ, Thank you for sending out this bulletin notice. I picked up my c7 last week. When I saw the post, I immediately emailed the salesman. He did not know about it, he did some checking and found my Vette is on the list. Currently she is snowed in so I will have to wait to get it serviced. Hopefully it is just low fluid. I am new to the forum and a new Vette owner. The information I am getting off this site is great. Thank you all!!

Took my C7 in yesterday to have the oil changed. They checked the recall for the fluid regarding the differential and it was low. They took care of it and all is good... FYI out there!

Picked up my car on Nov 18. Called the dealer and he said it didn't pertain to my VIN. I WONDER what the VIN cutoff is when they figured out it might be a problem.
.
It didn't cause any problems for me. Glad it didn't pertain to your C7. I have a very early VIN. Got my car in September.

They have a lot of logistics information to identify when they discovered it and validated the next shipment didn't have the problem. However, I would ask the dealer to check the level regardless. It wouldn't be the first time something slipped through. Me, I would do it myself but many aren't mechanically inclined so your dealer is the only resource you have.

Picked up my car VIN 8216 on 12/04, my salesman called me last week to have it checked which we did on 12/16 on my vacation return day. Everything OK but happy they checked. Received an actual robo call survey today to take my feedback.
