Back in 1967 I had reenlisted in the Navy and bought a Plymouth Belvedere I with a big block and 4 speed. I had flown my wife and new baby ahead to Wichita Falls where we would visit my parents before going to Christchurch, New Zealand on Navy orders. The day I graduated from Radioman "B" school (Bainbridge, MD) and I headed home on my own. I remember pulling out of Washington, DC and driving the Shenandoah Parkway and then on south through the Blue Ridge mountains. It was an amazing trip constantly shifting gears to maneuver curves and hills. I am now 76 and always wanted to take my wife on the same trip. We have a 2016 Z51 LT2. I would like to take the C7 but I am reaching out to you guys to see what you think. I know it is a comfortable car on the road but with speed limits of around 45 mph would it be a great road trip? I know the old saying about you can never go back but we either make the trip in the C7 or my wife's mini van! I would like some thoughts. I am guessing someone has made the trip in a Corvette.
