My car left BG last week by truck on its way to NH. As of today it is in Michigan waiting to be loaded on a train for a short ride near Albany NY. Then it has to be off loaded and put on a truck and then shipped to NH. The dealer said that this can take up to three to four weeks. I think this method is crazy. They have to load and unload the car 6 times before it gets to the dealer. The chance of damage to the car is high given the number of transfers. also the time for loading and unloading the train is incredible. It is no wonder why the trains are not used as much as trucks. Anybody else experience a long shipping duration or problems with shipping your car?

That seems like awefuly long time. Check the miles make sure someone didnt do a road trip in it :) I wonder if this is because of the weather?? Mine took 5 days to ship by truck/carrier to Phoenix after it was released.

My 81 vette was damaged during transit.
Salesman was very cool and handled it like a professional.
Important to have a cool relationship with dealer. In the mean time I'm sure everything will be cool for u.

I received word on December 13 that my car was on a truck for texas, and I received it Monday December 16. I believe it arrived at lunch time.
That is quick delivery as you live in the Metroplex with likely a number delivered in area. My car was shipped out on a Saturday, confirming the weekend work schedule and arrived in Boerne on a Thursday. 2 ironies in my delivery: one of work colleagues who lives east of SATX texted me that AM that he saw a transport loaded with Vettes heading west on I 10, & 2 hours later my salesperson called me with the news- ALL this on my birthday!

Steve, we share a birthday and I picked up my vette on Dec 5 (my daughters BD) 2013. And, the dealers address is 1251, my BD month and year.

Congrats on the car.

It has been three weeks since my car left BG. It has been sitting in a rail yard in NY waiting for a ride to the dealer. The dealer has over 23 cars waiting for the hour and half ride to the dealership. The shipper is frustrating the dealer by only shipping only one or two cars at a time. It doesn't make sense to me when they can fill two trucks in one trip. The museum delivery is making more sense now. At the rate it's going it could be four weeks in shipping alone. :)

The wait is painful, especially knowing it's so close. It'll be worth it when it arrives.

Back in October it took 6 days to get mine. It went from BG to Nashville back to BG and then shipped.

I feel your pain. The rail system is bad. Hope fully it will not sit in a rail yard at its destination.
