there is a few threads on here with this same topic if you search. I went with vettefx.com they have a vinyl strip to put over it and it comes in carbon flash.

This mod is the easiest mod to do as a DIY...
you have 3 choices that are being used around the forums:
1. Plastidip.....see dipyourcar.com for details
2. Vettefx.com type vinyl- many diff shades and textures
3. Paint it....
I have done 2 and then 3...this is cyber gray and 3 coats of gloss clear:

I had the guy that did my xpel film bra put the vetex carbon tape on for free since I overpaid him to do my front bumper, half fenders, full hood, rockers, pillars, rear sides, door sils, door cups, window tint by suntek all windows except windshield, washed my car, clayed my car, polished and sealed for $2,500This mod is the easiest mod to do as a DIY...

I received the vettefx for the front and it was in two pieces with no installation instructions. I realize it's just tape, but should I prep the surface with something or just clean the surface and sick it on? Glen help. I really want this to look good and last.

everyone should own two things if youu mod: a 100 pack of alcohol packets from the drug store and 5 foot roll of 3M VHB two sided exterior tape.
use alcohol and scrub the chrome strip very clean....start on one end - don't pull off the backing all at once...but if all this scares you..take it to a tint shop and have them do it for $25....

Thanks glen. I have the alcohol pads. Do I use the double back tape or just stick the stripe on after cleaning?
