He's protecting you from the shopping cart by putting his car there. lol

Seriously I will have to just not think about it because no matter where I park it always happens to me too.

Yesterday at the dealership no less than 50 people either touched my car or tried to open the door... this was with big sign saying car sold please do not touch!

I've had that happen to me, so this is what I do. I always park out in the "lower 40" & try to have a curb on one side (like you do) and I swing the back end out (within the white lines of my slot) so that whoever parks next to me has to park to the left (or right) side of their slot. Of course if they are just messing with us, there is not much you can do.

I woulda grabbed that shopping cart and placed it just like it is in the picture except I'd a put it in that spot right next to me. That way the Toyota driver would not have parked there, most folks are too lazy to get out and move a cart. But it seems no matter how far you park somebody always seems to park right next to ya.

I like the shopping cart idea...I know I never get out to move a shopping cart. I just drive on and find somewhere else to park. Not good, though, if the parking lot attendant decides to round them up and take them back to the store :(

I always park with a curb on one side, if I can find one of those slots open. At least that reduces the risk by 50%. It also allows me to get close to the curb, making more room on the drivers side but inevitably some idiot parks to my left, on the white line, 18" from my drivers door.

Can you dent composite? Sadly for Vette owners it's crack or chip, not dent.

So I go to the park this morning to walk and I always park in this little parking lot with 20 spaces. I always choose this one because it’s away from the restrooms and play area. I park all the way at the end and close to the curb as I can get.

Oh the joy of owning a beautiful and expensive car! ;)

Your picture reminds me of an encounter I had in a similar circumstance. We both got to our cars at the same time and (I guess he saw me looking at his car) he rolled down his window and said " I parked next to you because I figured my car was safe parked next to you." I could only reply, "You were right!"
