Most gas station attendants understand when you pull in with a vett and will let you pump your own gas. That's one thing I like here in jersey, when it's cold or raining you sit in comfort while your car is being filled.

Not in Jersey but use the NJ turnpike a lot. Haven't done so since I got my new C7. Since you can't fill you own gas, are the guys at the Pike rest areas familiar with how the no-cap fuel filler works?
Barb from SJ here! The answer in my opinion is questionable! Once I told him to fill it up and only ended up with a 1/2 a tank! But if it pops off too soon I just jump out myself and finish filling it.

Tnx for info Barb.

Update: We took a thousand mile trip in our C7 from MD to our camp in the Adirondacks and back last week. Drove a huge chunk of the NJ Pike and NY Thruway (which also doesn't allow drivers to fill). I filled up near home before we left and noticed my fuel range was over 500 miles which surprised me. So we were able to do the entire NJ Pike , I-287 and NY Thruway all the way to Albany, NY before we needed gas. Even then I had more that a quarter tank left. So never got to experience how the attendants would have handled the fill up.

I have never had a car that has a range over 500 miles. Cruising at 73mph for hours with AC on in Tour mode (auto, non-Z51) and with AFM, the fuel usage was reading around 35mpg and up to 39. The car was comfortable, smooth and incredibly responsive. Perfect for such a trip. Plenty of cargo space for the cat carrier and our luggage with no restricted view out of the rear window. My high expectations were exceeded!

Now have over 3000 miles on the car. Have had absolutely no problems even of a minor nature. No wonder all the car journal pundits were gaga on their reviews when the C7 first came out.

Wow, Boomer! Thank you for the review! It is so cool that the StingRay has such great gas mileage!!!!! I am also glad to hear that you were able to avoid the "attendant-forced" filling stations.

Safe journeys,

Rodney

I live in Bucks County, PA, but have a shore home in Anglesea NJ (North Wildwood).

I am actually here this weekend.

Keep an eye out and wave.

There are two white c7 verts in N Wildwood, mine does not have Chrome rims.

Welcome yell03! You don't have to worry about a wave!! We all wave, we're telling you how much we love your car! Lol just a bit partial. I'm just 5-6 miles east of Margate/Longport in Egg Harbor Township. See you out there!

I'm in Northern NJ, but no problems fueling. I ALWAYS hop out and open the fuel door myself. They have always known it is a flow through cap, and when I'm standing right next to fuel door, they've always been very careful inserting and removing nozzle. I've found early click-off is eliminated if I rotate the nozzle so it is 'upside down' from it's normal position while it is in the fuel fill hole. Eliminates chance of somebody doing something sketchy with my credit card too if I am standing right there. So far, I've seen maybe 2 other C7's other than mine up this way. Still get excited when I see another one!

Btw, I am joining the Central Jersey Corvette Club if anyone is in 'northern' southern NJ. I guess that would be central jersey, lol.

It looks good on her!
Thanks...
She has only driven it once or twice.
I try to get her to drive it, but if she is with me, she lets me drive.
Driving home on the AC expressway today was terrible, I think she will want to drive next time, I just can't stand when 2 people don't leave enough room to pass and decide to each drive 5-10mph under the limit.
I try and flash the brights to let them know I want to pass, but people are ignorant.
I don't drive aggressively, but today was rough.

My husband still hasn't driven mine, I took delivery 2/28/14. He never drove my '08 C6 Z06 either. He's not a car guy. I'm the Motörhead in the family.

Lol I hear ya!! Same complaint I have!!! It's supposed to be "keep right, pass left"! But I think no one knows what that means any more!

We were fortunate today no road hogs only rod hogs! Lol ME!!! we spent all day on the water. Were 40 miles off shore shark fishing. Left my baby in the garage.

Does he at least like to drive in it so you get to enjoy it with him?
I had a 2007 C6Z, awesome car.
Shark fishing, I am a land lubber.
Walking the dogs on the sea wall is far enough out for me.
