Had the pleasure of being chosen by my GSM to attend the Certification Training in Pahrump, NV this week. I arrived at the Ranch about Noon Tuesday. Registration, lunch, then off to the first training session. Routine was training followed in less than an hour then off to the track.
Classes included every aspect of the C7 series and driving consisted of
Figure eights, slalom, skid pad- both dry and wet. Track sessions
consisted of Driving instructor in Cameros with 3-4 students following, 3-4 groups total. 34 students total. Used Cameros so that spotting the instructors car was easy.
There were about 70 C7's at the Ranch, we saw the SS in a class. Started up and revved the motor. No convertibles - they expect some in a week or so.
Also drove the 911 Carrera and Boxer on the track. No comparison between Porsche's and Corvettes.
This training session should be mandatory for all sales consultants but the cost is prohibitive. You cannot fully understand the capabilities of the C7 unless you drive this stock Vette on the track.
The final ride was Hot Ride. About 8 C7's were lined up and drivers were trainers with students as passenger. 2 laps at race speeds. I tried to take a video but was thrown around and hard to capture good video. You thought you did OK on track then as passenger you saw how much you have to learn.
