Love my C7 overall but while driving for a short vacation yesterday, the infotainment screen went crazy along with my ac system. Drivers heated seat came on and would not turn off. Drove for over an hour with hot seat. Radio screen kept changing stations rapidly. Called OnStar and they couldn't diagnose the probelm. They suggetsed I turn radio off, then turn engine off, then open driver door and leave open for 15 minutes. This turned off the heated seat but did not fix overall problem.

Took car back to my dealer today and they are going to find and fix problem. I have heard that others have seen this problem. Anyone know what the fix is?

John; Some people are getting new screens, while other are getting "control modules, while others are getting a "re-flash" of the cars ecu. It all depends on the specific problem and what controls it. Good luck with your fix, and keep us informed as you and your dealer work through the issue.

The first thing GM techs do to straighten out a software issue is what's called a GLOBAL RESET. You can do it if you are comfortable working on your car. I've done it several times.

1. Find battery, and disconnect both batt cables
2. Touch cables together, you won't get a spark or anything. This drains the caps and why just disconnecting batt won't do it,
3. Wait 5 min, reconnect pos, then neg...

You will only lose user settings, nothing important.

Always worth a try in my book when you have "satan in the wiring harness" as one tech called it....

I really don't like the infotainment system and the screen sucks as a touch screen. I'm not sure if my issues are user error or glitches on the screen yet but I'm annoyed
Looks like its the same infotainment software system that's in my new Sierra and I can tell you compared to my Escalade it's not nearly as user friendly. I'm hoping with time I'll get better using it and find it more powerful but my first impression is same as yours.

Unfortunately when my XTS was brand new (and GMs foray in to the new CUE system) I, along with a number of other early adopters, had very similar problems (including the radio becoming unbearably and uncontrollably loud, sluggish or non responsive screen, heat and AC problems). The fix was a combination of a number of software upgrades and replacing the CUE unit along with select modules. Once all of that was done over the first month or so, there have been no other problems in a year. By the by, the software upgrades resulted in a vast improvement in the CUE system response speed to touches and accurate recognition of a touch. Hopefully the C7 will get it sorted out quickly.

You have to wonder why they feel the need to re-invent the wheel for every product launch. You got something that works...Stick with it. If it doesn't work, don't make you customers be the first to discover the defect.

My dealer called today to say they have consulted with Bowlingreen on the problems with my Infotainment and heating/ac. Seems that they know the issue but given newness of the C7 they don't have replacement parts in the sytem yet so they are sending parts from the assembly line in Bowlingreen.

I will update once I knwo more.

John V,

It's great that you're already loving your Stingray aside from the Infotainment matter. I'm glad to see that your dealership and Bowling Green are working together to get this resolved. If you feel you need additional support, be sure to let us know via direct message. Same applies to anybody experiencing an issue like this with their Infotainment system - we're here to help!

Got my C7 on October 4th and it is a great car. Got into it on Saturday the 19th to take a drive and the LCD screen for the Infotainment system went haywire for absolutely no reason. I just started the car and the trouble began. It started flipping from screen to screen and then started doing some weird stuff like an old television when the picture tube rolls continuously just before it goes out. There was nothing near it to cause any interference and I had not place anything in the compartment behind the screen other than a pair of Oakley sunglasses.

I took my car to the dealer service department and he called me yesterday to tell me that they are replacing the unit and this doesn't appear to be an isolated incident. I'm just glad that they are not going to attempt a fix it and leave a defective item in my car. Overall, I love the car and don't regret making the purchase for one second.

Sounds like the same problems they initially had in my XTS (commented earlier) which was one of the first produced. They ended up doing a number of software updates and then replaced the unit. No problems since that time (just about 1 year).

Exactly the same issue I experienced with my C7 Sunday night. I trust my dealer, Tom Gill Chevrolet, since I have been dealing with them for 15 years. They have always been honest and responsive to me. They actually gave me a car of my choice, not a Vette, to drive while they sort out the issue. I will post again once I get my car back.

Same thing happened in mine the other day. May I ask what dealership you had it serviced at? I'm asking for reference in case my dealership tries to tell me it's my fault or some other bs.

Nimnicht Chevrolet in Jacksonville. I don't think you'll have any issues with your dealer. This seems to be an issue that Chevy is becoming familiar with.
