I have an aesthetically beautiful mechanically ugly 2014 C7 Z51 LT3 which I paid $5K over sticker and waited anxiously to have delivered.
From the start I suspected I may have issues before the car arrived and sure enough, BAM!
My first issue which included 4 dealer visits waiting whilst the "stingray specialist" and service manager at Penske Chevy in Cerritos, CA worked with the team of engineers in KY was never fixed and never again addressed after 6 months included constant sounds of running water behind the glove box which sounded similar to an old coffee percolator.
The next issue I found was that when you turn the temperature setting dial down to Lo setting but do not turn on the A/C button, the A/C compressor engages however the A/C button light is not on and the dash display says A/C Off. Beware as the A/C is on even though it says off.
Secondly on a similar note the software does not properly indicate exterior and interior air circulation when you check it out.
As an owner of a software company I suggested to the service manager that there seems to be a S/W glitch which prevents proper indicator lights from engaging. Upon the service department review with the KY team again I was told there is an "anomaly" in the system.
I simply said "oh no shit, wow why didn't I think of that"
GM definitely released the vehicle before all of the proper tests were completed fixing any bugs.
What a disappointment.
This is my first American car purchase since in the 1980's when I had a special order Z28 which had nothing but problems which people as high up as "zone managers" could not get corrected so I never bought another until now. This will be the last one I purchase.
I will garage this with my 69 Stingray for my children to sell when they get older.
My opinion, buy Lexus products.
