Hello all. I was driving my C7 to work. I made a Left hand turn and the entire dashboard cut off for about 10 seconds. Everything came back on. I was driving it again a few weeks later the same issue. Took it to the dealer and they could not replicate the problem. That same day I tried to make a call and the OnStar system just made a hissing sound, I called OnStar (on my cell) they said to shut off the car for 10 mins and it would reset. It did. Anyone else having these issues?

adan; We need a little more info. Start off by letting us know a few details about your car. (i.e. base or Z-51, & manufacturing date) There have been others that have experienced problem with their dash / information screen. In some cases a re-flash was required to make it right, and others a different remedy was required.

Yes, I had the same problem today. It behaved exactly as you described. Mine is a Z51, built in April 2014.

I found this so maybe GM has gone to a new vendor for the control module that operates the infotainment system. Ask about this when you take your cars in for service.

"2014 May production. My daily driver with 5k miles. Started it last week and the infotainment screen was dead along with the displays in the temp and fan dials. Volume/mute button did nothing as did the control buttons below the screen. The steering wheel controls still cycled through the favorites and controlled the volume as normal. Drove a mile or so and restarted the car and had the same result. Dead for two days and then on the 3rd day it came back on when the car was started to drive to work and has been functioning normally.

Shot video of the system while it was dead and emailed it to the service mgr at my dealership. He had to contact Chevy who told him the infotainment system control module was bad. They have a control module on order that should come is sometime this week. Interesting that he told me this module is now coming directly from a new vendor for the part."

I have had this intermittent same exact ( no button control, no AC,no fan control- scroll limited on steering wheel) issue since I received my car Z51 6A LT3. Built in April 2014 picked up June 12th 2014.I have posted about this a few months ago.
It's been into 2 dealers. 5th try on proven there is a problem, it finally failed in front of the dealership tech.
It's now at the dealership getting the whole infotainment center console replaced.
I will report back if it is really fixed..
Wish me Good Luck ? and Good Luck to you too.

Mine started doing this. The dealership reflashed the effected system and it hasn't happened since. No parts needed to be replaced at all. Hope this helps.

Update: Dealer said they found a laundry list of codes and cleared them, then they did a "Global Reset".
They drove the car about 20 miles seems all to be ok.
Wife will pick up car today .Hopefully its fixed .:)
Butch; Did they address any of the stored codes or did they just clear them? We have seen that many times the Global Reset will clear up many issues, but if the issue returns it will be stored again, and if serious enough will cause the check engine light (CEL) to illuminate. In case you are not familiar with the Global Reset, it is nothing more than disconnecting the battery leads then touching them together for several seconds. We saw this being done fairly frequently on some early / mid 2014's.
