Occasionally the car will honk three time when I exit the vehicle. This happens with the engine on or off. The key fob is always in my pocket and I have turned off the notification for a key left inside the car.

It's still set for "when you exit the vehicle". Mine does the same thing, as my fob has a permanent place in my purse. You may have missed something in the settings with regard to your notifications. You may want to go back through the menu and see. I went through several steps to turn this notification on... it wasn't just one setting, but several. Wish I could be of more help.

Isn't that some proximity sensor re to the fob being away from the car?

Doors unlocked. It's only happened a couple of times. I disabled the passive locking, maybe I was pressing the lock button on the fob unintentionally while exiting.

there is no way to turn off this sensor. It's a reminder that the fob is NOT in the car which is the opposite of leaving the fob IN the car. Talked to dealer, GM customer service, forum members, no way to turn it off and it pisses people off when I'm switching cars around at 5am in the morning.

I presume Idepalma that you mean it does the beeps when you exit the car with the engine running and key fob on your person? My understanding is it should not be beeping you with the engine off unless you have some door, trunk or cubby improperly closed when it goes to autolock.
