EDIT: Thanks for the feedback! My VIN is below the threshold (1059), so I'll check with dealer and report back. Also, thanks for the info on the "normality" of this. I'll just be sensitive to it.

Just got my torch red Z51...phenominal!

I have 3 issues, one fairly concerning...
  1. passenger door rattle - sounds like a loose speaker wire or something...
  2. squeaky rear brakes - ok, metalic breaks squeak...anyone else have this? My c6 had it bad, and they used squeal-x spray to resolve...
  3. tire slip (?) during sharp slow turns - big concern, more below

I can only describe it as a slipping sensation when I do a sharp turn coming outnof a parking situation or similar. I need to have passenger watch from outside, hit it feels like the tires are breaking looseand slipping, or bouncing on the pavement. Wet or dry, so that concerns me.

Anyonen have anything similar?

The tire slip is normal I drove one the other day and the owner warmed me about it first. I couldn't believe it. I would have taken the car back to the dealer and tell that something was really wrong with the car. Can't say if this is a tire design issue or something other than the tires either way I hope GM fix this.

Are you part of the vin group that needs fluid? If so perhaps that will help with the wheel hop.

We have had 2 with similar issues. Simple fix. ELSD needs air bleed. Will probably then need to add 2-3 oz of fluid.
Wait a minute...Let's not confuse two different systems. The e-diff has a separate self contained Hyd. system that self bleeds & that system receives instructions from the ECU(s) to provide pressure, or not to the clutch pack. There is also hypoid grease in the axle housing that provides lubrication to the axle and rear gear set. I expect the 2-3 oz. "add" is to the gear lube. Right?

I jumped the gun Chip, sorry about the confusion. We had 2 that had rear diff pops on turns. Warning lights came on that indicated problem with traction control. Low pressure in ELSD was cause and simple bleeding took care of it.

rvanhouse; Glad to hear you have squared away. See if you can find out more about the "bleed" operation as I was given to believe that this system is "self-bleeding". If that is not the case, then this new info is good to know about as we figure out how this system works.

So I found more info out from my buddy talking with his dealership. The noise when doing slow turns is because of what is called ackernan angles, it is due to the car and tires being setup for high performance driving. It's called out in your owners manual as being normal.
