Please provide some additional information: is it reading high across all 4 TPMs? Is this a static reading when you start up or one that you notice after being on the road for say 15 or 20 minutes? High compared to an independent measure such as an accurate digital hand gauge? Thanks.

Sorry for not being specific. All four tires read warm regardless of condition. When I start the car first thing in the morning the tires read warm. This evening I got back from a business trip, started my car in the parking lot at work (air temp about 54F) and all four tires read warm.

I haven't independently checked the system against a LASER thermometer, but 54 degrees isn't warm for a Michelin Super Sport. The temperature constantly reads warm, regardless of conditions. It's not a big deal to me, but it's just kind of weird.

So you are not referring to the TPMS direct tire readout but to the Performance sub display of tire temperature (cold, warm, hot)? What are the actual tire pressure readings during this period using the TPMS display?

Now that I know what you are referring to I will check the cold-warm-hot read out since I don't normally look at that, just the TPM psi display. If anyone else focuses on the Performance tire temp at start up please chime in :D

I finally looked at my performance tire temperature reading on start up last night and even with the car not having been driven for a couple of days the tires displayed "warm"- I am pretty sure this is normal and would not expect to see it showing "cold" unless the tires were near to 40 degrees ambient temperature.

Same here after the car sat in the garage for over 24 hrs. Was about 60 degrees ambient.

I too only have ever seen warm. Never have seen cold or hot. With temperatures now dropping in the Philadelphia area I have been watching to see what it showed. I also thought it was a it strange that at 38 degrees the other morning with a garage temp of about 60 degrees still had only warm.

Was wondering the same today. Was high 50's to low 60's all day and the tires read warm at startup. I doubt that is actually considered warm from a traction/handling perspective. Doesn't the car use tire temp into consideration for its throttle response algorithms etc?

I've noticed that in 60 degree weather or less the car will break loose in a straight line in second gear at about 45 mph with partial throttle. I have not tried PTM in previous weather conditions. Not that I make it a habit of getting side-ways. Tires are expensive. It just seems odd that "Warm" is constant. What's the point of incorporating tire temp into the traction/handling program if the tires are always the same temp? Not that I'm a chassis engineer or anything.

By the way, how do I quote another member's text in my response? I'm such a noob!!
