Not seeing option code, "RC8." Did you mean "R8C," Museum Delivery, and if so, that is not the reason for the TPW change, for Museum Deliveries of 2015's are starting on September 2nd.Mine and several others orders went from a TPW of 8/25 to 9/29 this week, it appears the common items on our orders are WA8 and RC8, would either of these options cause this or is there another reason?
Yes, I meant to type R8C Museum Delivery, thanks for catching that. I did not think that would have anything to do with the delay. It appears that WA8 is the reason. Not seeing option code, "RC8." That is funny and sad at the same time, but I know it now. It appears those with the WA8 will indeed be waiting.my tpw is 8-11 according to Will from customer care and dealership last night. hope my tpw doesn't slip. Wa8 is not an option on mine, in case you didn't know wa8 stands for wait.
He was making a joke. Wa8... Wuh AAay Eight.. Wuh Aay Ate... Wuh-ay-ate.. Wa-ate... Wate... Wait.Wa8 is not wait, its the paint protection option.
I thought it was funny also even though I'm one of those waiting for it. I'm just hoping it does not get pushed out any farther!!He was making a joke. Wa8... Wuh AAay Eight.. Wuh Aay Ate... Wuh-ay-ate.. Wa-ate... Wate... Wait.
They sound the same if you draw it out, and then put it all back together.
Kinda funny if the WA8 option is indeed delayed, thereby causing people to have to "wait" on their orders to get filled.
Delays can occur for a myriad of reasons ranging from a parts shortage, batch problem, QC, etc. Production week dates are provided as tentative for this very reason. Post actual production has the possibility of many types of delays as well including the discovery of a batch problem, failure of one or more of the final QC checks, logistics issues, etc. GM does produce weekly notifications of temporary holds related to parts, and notification on larger QC holds as they did in the start of the 2014 Stingrays with the Nashville 'quarantine" QC. Even after a car has been in shipping or reached a dealer it can be put on a QC hold if an issue has shown up in a specific batch impacting that car. This is also why all NCM deliveries go through a mandatory approximate 10 day QC hold after moving from the plant to the museum. It allows for batch related QC issues to surface and be repaired before releasing the car.I'm new to this whole process and never ordered a car before but why all the mystery behind delays.....why wouldn't GM inform the dealers about these issues? Just curious. There's codes for each step in the ordering process. I would figure there'd be codes for each delay as well.
Don't get me wrong though......very exciting times!
