I'll bite, why is this "just what we all need"? All of that info already is available to you via your on board computer, plus you get the monthly reports from OnStar- at least during the free part.
I wonder how sophisticated the installed black box by GM is, as related to tracking and the like? Of course it would not be a owner useable device.
OnStar (comes with your C7) can locate your vehicle at anytime.
