I haven't been able to find any information on a manual switch. I have a child's car seat mounted on the passenger seat. The airbag light on the instrument panel shows "off". However, my eyes continually glance over at the light to make sure the airbag stays off. I don't know what weight criteria is being used or the location of the seat sensors. The child car seat rests more on the side bolsters than the seat bottom. A large dog would create weight on the seat bottom and perhaps activate the airbag. I will monitor this thread in hopes that someone knows how to manually turn off the airbag.

Pretty sure its based on weight I think I read 70lbs turns on. Light on mirror should show if its engaged or off.
Hope this helps

It's off by default and as mentioned, it turns on based on weight. There's no way a car seat with a small child will trigger the weight sensor. There is no manual switch.
