Sorry Guys, I hate to start a new thread if it is not needed but:

I live in AZ and want a removable top that I can put in and out in a few seconds. I would like to leave the factory top in the trunk and then use a quickly removable top during the day when in the parking lot at work. (I live in AZ.)

This would be more along the lines of an umbrella type of top. It doesn't have to be capable of running at any speed. Just to keep the sun out during the day when parked so I don't have to go into the trunk to get the regular top.

I know they have these for older vettes. Has anyone got a solution for the C7?

Direct me to a thread if this has already been asked...

Thought I would add a smiley face for the hell of it. :)

These can be called a cockpit cover, usually, but not always are for convertibles.

For coupes they can be referred to as a sun jacket.

I am looking for one but have yet to find one that works for the C7 coupe.

I have one for my S2000, a cockpit cover and it works great.

I would like to find one for my C7 coupe as the wife is not comfortable with taking the top on and off by herself.

Having a sun jacket would allow her to drive to work with the top off and still keep the interior covered while she was at work.

I continue to look, hopefully a vendor will design and sell one soon.

I think once you do it a couple of times you will find that the factory lid is stupid simple and light. Biggest thing I had to learn is that you must push on the front of the roof to get the rear to seat correctly. Once you've got that down, it is easy and can be done with one person.

That being said, I have not yet seen anything similar to the umbrella top you are inquiring about.

I agree, however you just have to know my wife! She just won't do it alone.

I'd love to find one also, since my wife won't put it back on. She's leery of removing it herself after almost burning her hands once doing it after the car had sit in the sun all day at work. I did it but it was damn hot and I almost dropped it!

Boy do I feel stupid! I found one a few months ago in a discussion on the other forum however did not bookmark it. Now can't find it. It was ugly but the price was right and I can put up with ugly if it keeps bird poop, leaves and bugs out. I parked under a tree cause it was sunny and hot. Now i have to clean up the interior. As to putting the plastic top in and out of place anyone with lower back issues is just going to want to do that a minimum of times.
Maybe someone can go over to the other site and see if they have better luck.

I've used the California Pop Top on another car, and it works well and is quick and easy to put on and take off.
